Welcome
Meet another new for October stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called
Such a pretty, simple wreath perfect to watercolour or to use just as it is.
So, here's what I did to create my card.
- I began by placing the Outline Wreath stencil over a piece of white cardstock. I used a post-it note to mask as I wanted to ink up just the ribbon part of the stencil with some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink.
- After the ribbons were all inked, I moved onto the greenery and inked that with some Lucky Clover DOX ink.
- Next, leaving the stencil in place and to help really define the details on the wreath, I took a green marker and a red marker and traced inside the edges of the stencil. I also took a wet paintbrush and used that to do a bit of watercolouring inside the wreath outline.
- I splattered the wreath with my white Posca pen, let that dry and then fussy cut it out.
- I took another piece of white cardstock, placed the Merry Christmas stencil over my that and inked it up with more of the Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink. I splattered that as well with white and set aside to dry.
- I cut some white cardstock and scored it according to the below measurements as I wanted to make a side fold designs.
Here is how I did that:
- Base: cut a piece of cardstock 9 3/4" x 4 1/4"
- Score the base at 4 1/4"
- Stamped Panel Front measures 3 3/4" sqaure
- Side Panel measures 1 1/2" x 3 3/4"
- I cut and glued the stenciled Merry Christmas background onto the card base, then glued the wreath on top of that.
- I die cut the sentiment and added that using some foam tape.
