Hello and Welcome
Here is a collage style card I made recently.  Also wanted to play with some new stamps I picked up by AALL and Create.

So onto my card details.

• I began by getting out my Gel Plate and rolled on some different shades of blue paint.  I lifted some off as I wanted the print to have some white open space.  
• I laid down a maple leaf that I pulled off of the tree at the front of my house and pushed it into the wet paint with the vein sides down.
• I lifted the leaf off and then took the print onto some heavy white cardstock.  I love how just part of the leaf lifted, almost looks like a ghosting impression.
• Using a few different stamps, I inked them up with some Archival ink and stamped randomly over the painted surface.  
• I placed the piece into my Misti, stamped the sentiment with some black Versafine Clair ink, then clear heat embossed it.
• I mounted the piece onto some black cardstock, then onto a matching background colour.

I've been playing along with some of the challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers.

One of the challenges was to use the 'Spotlighting Technique'.  Basically what that technique entails is to stamp an image twice, then using just a part of one of the images, add colour to that and pop it back over the original.  

I thought I would change up that technique by doing it using a stencil instead of stamping it all.

So onto my card details.

I began with this lovely 2-part Dahlia stencil from Altenew.  I placed Stencil A onto my piece of heavy white cardstock and with a very gentle hand, I rubbed over it with some Hickory Smoke DOX ink.  When I was happy with the inking, I removed that stencil and positioned the Stencil B over the inked area.  Using a bit heavy hand, I rubbed on some more Hickory Smoke to give a darker shaded effect.  

Next, using another piece of cardstock, I placed the Stencil A down and sponged on some DOX inks, lifted that and using Stencil B, applied the darker details.
I cut down the panel, matched it to the grey toned background and pop dot mounted it back in place matching it all up.
I stamped the sentiment and mounted it onto some orange cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Inky Collage

Good Morning

I hope you are well as we all deal with this isolation.  

Time for some inky fun.  I've had some time off now and I have been playing and getting inky; love it!

 Every time I make a card or play with ink, I just hate wasting the leftovers.  I always try and have some extra cardstock nearby at hand to soak up the extra inks left on my mat.  Often with just a little spray of water, a background is created.

That is how this card was born.

So, I began with this inky background....I think I soaked up some Peeled Paint, Peacock Feathers and some Broken China onto my white cardstock.  

I placed it into my Misti and stamped this collage style stamp using some black Versafine ink.  I did heat emboss it with some clear powder to help make the black really pop.

Using a square die, I cut a square from the inked panel and used it to stamp my sentiment on to.

I mounted that small square onto a piece of white cardstock, then pop dot mounted it back into the piece, matching up where it had been cut away from.

Keeping with the simple theme of this card, I mounted it onto some more white and then onto a white card base.

The Journey- CAS Watercolour Challenge

Welcome.

CAS Watercolour Challenge.

This month we welcome my talented friend Michele as our GD.

So this is how I created my card.

I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and positioned it into my Misti with the stamps in the right position.  Using my Tombow markers, I coloured directly onto my stamps, starting with the red first, sprayed with water and stamped.  Without reinking, I moved my paper slightly in my Misti, sprayed and stamped again.  It gave such great fullness to the look of my flowers.

I stamped the sentiment using my Misti again then removed it and rubbed some Candied Apple DOX ink along the edges of one side.  I also used some Black Soot DOX ink over the red to add some depth.  I splattered with some black acrylic paint and when it was all dry, I simply mounted it onto a heavy white card base.

Single Poppy- CAS Watercolour Challenge

Time for another card for the 

CAS WATERCOLOUR CHALLENGE

This month our theme is Poppy.

So onto my card details.

Last month, I was so lucky to have won a gift certificate to buy some goodies from Visible Image Stamps.  I have had my eye on this poppy set called Creative Chaos for awhile so was thrilled to pick it up.

I began with some heavy white cardstock and applied some Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks along the right side using the Acetate Inking technique.  I stamped the circles, also from that set, over the inked area to add interest.  

I placed the dried piece into my Misti and stamped the Poppy with some Tuxedo black Memento ink and clear heat embossed it as I wanted to do some watercolouring and didn't want the inks to bleed.

I rubbed some more of the Distress Oxides inks onto my acetate sheet and picked up the ink with a wet paintbrush to watercolour the flower head.

I stamped the sentiment using my Misti again and simply mounted it all onto a white card base.

Time for another card for the 

CAS Watercolour Challenge

Our theme this month is Sunflowers.

Check out the wonderfully sunny gallery and our guest Izzy (Izzy Scrap).

To create my card, I placed this large flower stamp into my Misti and stamped it with black Memento ink.  Next, I cut it down around the edged and fussy cut out the flower petals at the bottom for more interest.

I then watercoloured it using some diluted Brushos and a paintbrush, blending the yellows to keep my flower sunny and bright.

When that was dry, I added lots of Glossy Accents to my flower head; just too bad you can't see that in the photo.

I stamped the sentiment using my Misti again, then added a few black gems for interest.

Using a fine line black marker, I traced around the whole outside to help define the outline of the flower then lastly, I simply mounted it onto a white card and done.

Natural Beauty- The Flower Challenge

It's time for a new card for
The Flower Challenge

 This month's theme is Anything Goes.

Spring is blooming and the poppies are such a happy, welcome sight.
I picked up this wonderful stamp back in April at Scrapfest and wanted to ink it up.

I began by masking my watercolour  paper with painter's tape.  Just a reminder, if you are using this tape remove some of the tack or it will tear your paper.  Nothing worse then finishing a card front, removing the tape and ripping the edges.
I inked my stamp inside my Misti with black ink and stamped.  I added clear embossing powder over the image and heat set it.  Next, I  coloured them using my Zigs.  I like to put some colour on the base of my flowers then using a wet paintbrush, pull the colour up into the top of the image.
I stamped the sentiment and then used some Distress ink to sponge the edges, removed the painter's tape and mounted the piece onto a red cardstock base.
