Meet today's card.
I just love how this turned out and it was so fun to create.
I love trying out new techniques and playing with inks and paint. I watched this video and then got out my old credit card and acrylic paint and played away.
Basically you use a credit card to spread thin layers of paint onto your cardstock in different directions. I used 4 colours of acrylic paint; 2 shades of blue, black and white.
I had some white acrylic paint leftover on my palette so I took the credit card and made the lines over the painted bkg and then splattered white paint with a paint brush. The splatters added depth and extra interest. I found the background dried very quickly because the layers of paint were so thin.
I die-cut the 'Happy Birthday' from Simon Says twice, glued them together then onto my card front.

Beautiful card and another super technique from you Karen.
the credit card makes a great paint brush doesn't it. I like how you used the credit card to add the extra marks - I will have to remember that next time (I also keep a journal on my work table and any leftover paint from projects will go on a page in the journal - then you have the start of a new page) thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge
