Wounded Wings

Good Morning
Here is today's card made using my Gel Plate, some Distress Oxide inks and this beautiful Butterfly Mask from A Colorful Life Designs.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by getting out my Gel Plate, brayer and 2 Distress Oxide ink pads; Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet.  Working with Distress inks on a Gel Plate is so super simple and required little clean up, just a baby wipe or some water and a cloth.
  • I pressed the Wilted Violet DOX ink into the center of my plate, then added some Blueprint Sketch along each side.  I smoothed out the colours using my brayer.
  • I pressed the Butterfly Mask onto my plate and used the end of my paintbrush handle to gently press the mask onto the plate to get good contact.
  • I carefully lifted off the mask which removed some of the colour and rubbed a piece of white cardstock over the plate to lift the print.
  • I splattered it with my white Posca pen and let dry.
  • When it was dry, I placed it into my Misti and stamped this new to me sentiment from Impression Obsession called Broken Wings.
  • I kept it simple by gluing it onto a white card base.

Here is the mask I used:
