Meet today's card.
A masculine card with a simple CAS design.

I needed a card for my husband's birthday.  He is a huge music fan and loves attending concerts.  This image from IO works so perfectly for a masculine card and for anyone who loves concert going.
So onto my card.

I began by pulling out my Rectangle Mask from A Colorful Life Designs.  These masks have pretty much found a permanent spot on my desk and are so great for creating cards with a border. It sure saves time and I don't have to fuss around with my Post it Tape.
I placed the mask over my white card front and started sponging on some DOX inks being sure to keep the colour just to the left side.  I used a small sponge dabber to apply the ink and chose colours that complimented each other.  When I was happy with the coverage, I added some details using the Grunge Dots stencil and more DOX inks.
Next, I place the piece inside my Misti and add more details by stamping some Graffiti along the left edge.  I stamped the image by inking with black Memento then clear heat embossed to help make it pop against the colourful background.
I added the sentiment, removed the mask and mounted it onto some orange cardstock then onto a plain white card.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Cheers

Good Morning.
Meet today's card inspired by the challenge at Splitcoast Stampers this morning; to create a card using your birthstone colour.  Fun, right?
Since my birthday is January 1st, (yes, I'm a New Year's baby) so my colour is Garnet.  For those of you that don't know, Garnet is a deep shade of red.

So onto my card.  I do love playing around with my Distress Oxide inks.  I did some acetate inking along the side of my card front using Fired Brick and Candied apple DOX ink.  To see a pictorial of this technique go HERE.
Next, I took out my Circles Make Circles stencil and added some stenciling along the side of my card using more of the Fired Brick.  Next I randomly inked up my Graffiti stamp and pressed that over the inked area just to add some more interest and texture.
I placed the piece inside my Misti and stamped the sentiment and the silhouette and clear heat embossed to help make them pop against the bkg.
I mounted the piece onto some black cardstock then onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Breathe Kindness

Meet today's card.
Today, I am hosting the Technique Lovers Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.
For my challenge, I am presenting Loll Thompson's video as inspiration:

If you are a regular here at my blog, you know that I have been addicted to this fun and easy technique to create quick, simple backgrounds.  What I also love about them is that they are easy to stamp over.  I use a heavy white cardstock but you can use watercolour paper as Loll suggests in her video.  I think most of you already have some kind of water based ink on hand.

So using Loll's technique and some Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides, my background was born.  It dries quickly which is good if you want to get down to stamping like I do.
I stamped the Grafitti down the left side to help ground the card with Salty Ocean so it would blend in with the layers of ink already on my card.
I place the thistle stamp into my Misti, inked with black and pressed onto my paper.
I also did that with the sentiment.

Thanks so much for taking a look.
Hope you get a chance to try it out.
