Summer's End

Good Morning.

I must say that I am sad to see the summer ending but the crisp, cool Fall air feels refreshing.
Happy to have some time to stamp today and play with some new-to-me stamps.

I wanted to create a washed watercolour background for my card.  I did that simply by inking up my long acrylic block with Distress inks, sprayed with water and dragged the ink over the front of my card.  It is a super easy way to add ink yet leaving some white space behind.

Next, using my Misti, I stamped the flowers across the panel.  To add a bit of interest, I stamped the chevrons along the side too.  I think it just helped to break up all the flowers.
Stamped the sentiment and mounted it onto a white card base keeping it very clean and simple.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

What beautiful colors for the background of your wonderful card too. I am love that look. I too have mixed feelings about summer leaving and fall beginning. But I guess we need both the seasons and I will adjust. I know I was feeling quite chilly when the temps dipped down into the 40's for several nights but in the day time it was perfect. Hard to believe the summer has passed already as it seemed to go so quick.

Interesting what we see. I see an abandoned field of wildflowers, to some maybe weeds, across from the stacked cement patios (the chevrons) of an urban high-rise. I love it with the waterfall of color separating the two. Perhaps it will look different to me tomorrow but that is what I see today.

I adore the colours and the inking and spritzing the blog and dragging it has resulted in lovely stripes of colour Karen, and the pretty silhouette flowers and chevrons are perfect. x

I love these colors together and the look you get from dragging your inked and watered acrylic block! I've tried this and didn't have nearly as wonderful results! More lovely silhouette stamps and I love the chevron and type on the side! They do add extra interest! So glad you've had a chance to stamp this weekend!

I started to comment on all you so VERY beautiful and clever, ingenious, stunning cards, but the robot monster appeared, (I've been catching up on too many blogs LOL) so I have to apologise for just the couple I have left, your cards deserve more to be said about them.
