Season's Greetings Poinsettia- The Flower Challenge

Good morning.
Meet my first holiday card of the year.
Yes, I'm way behind as life has gotten in the way.

It's also time for more fun at

I used the middle diagonal themes- Gems, Watercolor, CAS.

So, I began by placing this lovely Penny Black poinsettia called Red Star into my Misti,  coloured directly onto the rubber with my Tombow markers, sprayed with water and stamped.
I repeated that process starting with the lightest shade of marker and adding some darker color until I was happy with the impression.  I also used my Prismacolor Pencils to add additional detail to the flower centers and blended that out using a wet paintbrush.
I stamped the sentiment using my Misti again and clear heat embossed it.
To add interest to the background, I stamped the PB Script using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed it.
Lastly, I rubbed the whole piece with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress ink.

Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look!

Adding my card to these challenges:
Little Red Wagon- DISTRESS IT
Christmas Card Challenge- ANYTHING GOES (optional cookies)
Addicted to Stamps- CHRISTMAS

Stamps- Season Greetings (PB)
Inks- Tuxedo Black Memento/ Distress-Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar (TH)/
Paper- Heavy Weight white (local store)

The embossed script adds an extra layer of goodness to your already lovely card, Karen. And you have such a light touch with your background inking.

This is so beautiful, Karen! I love the added details with the pencils and the script! You always add just enough to make it more interesting but not too busy! I wish I could sponge color as smoothly as you do!
