Washi Christmas

Good morning.
Let's talk Washi tape.
It all seemed good at the time I bought it.  Pretty colourful patterns and designs.  I have some rolls of it but it sits in a bag as I try and figure out how to use it on my cards.
Well, today, out came the washi tape when I saw this sketch challenge at Splitcoast.
I often struggle with sketch challenges but this one was an easy one.

I began by sticking the washi tape onto a piece of cardstock in a herringbone pattern.  When I was happy with the design, I cut it out and glued it onto my card front.
I stamped the sentiment from The Old Island Stamp Company then pierced the border.
Simple, colourful and quick.
And now I have found a use for my washi tape.

Adding my card to these challenges:

VERY pretty, great use of washi tape!! I love washi but for some reason have a hard time using it (weird, huh?) I too am going to pin this idea. I think I need to start a Pinterest board for just washi ideas :)

This is a very nice use of washi! I just might have to try it out myself. I collect washi like crazy but don't really seem to know what to do with it.
