Meet today's card.
I called it Marbled Magic. I love making marbled paper and I want to show you how super easy it is to create!
This card used a lovely recycled heart from a greeting card I received.
I took step-by step pictures to give you a better idea of what to do.
I hope they help you see how it's done.
So here we go.
Step One
Fill a container that is larger then the size of you cardstock piece and with approx. 2 inches of water. I use an old container for this as you may get some staining.
Step 2
Randomly drop some nail polish over the surface of the water. I try and spread them across the surface of the water.
Step 3
Next, take a small skewer and swirl the nail polish around in the water a bit. It may stick a bit to the stick but if you lift it out quickly it shouldn't be a problem.
Now lay your piece of cardstock onto the surface of the water.
I used a heavy weight cardstock for mine.
Step 4
Lift it quickly out of the water and set aside to dry completely.
Your marbled paper is ready to use.
Well there you go and by the way, here is the nail polish I used which I bought at the Dollar Store.
*EDITED TO INCLUDE: I recently tried using the Gel Nail Polish with not as nice results
so I suggest sticking with the regular kind.*

What gorgeous color choices for your marble ... absolutely lovely card.
Thanks so much for the tutorial! Very cool!!!! There is a marbling kit at Michaels for 70% off. I have been so tempted to pick it up and I might just do it. I don't really have an extra pan lying around. :) I love the results of this technique! So very pretty!!!
I have used this tutorial and love it but the fumes are so strong...great results though and love this.xx
The marbled background looks gorgeous!!! It looks so beautiful with the little blue heart bouquet! Thanks for the step by step tutorial, Karen!
Great technique and a lovely way to showcase the heart.

Thanks for the inspiration, Karen! I think this is going to be one of those things I'll need to "see/try for myself" ... LOL Your marbling is beautiful!
Cool technique -- You can do the same thing and use alcohol inks in place of the nail polish.
Well Karen this looks a fab technique, and if it's one thing I have plenty of it's nail polish. Your card is gorgeous , I love the colours and tha floral heart, Kate x
Love this blue marbling, Karen! It's a beautiful backdrop for this gorgeous heart!
