Playing with Blue- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.
Time for another card at

Great theme we are playing with this month
MONOCHROME
(we can use black for the sentiment)

So onto my card.
I love to play with my inks especially my Distress Oxides.  I often rub them onto a piece of acetate or my non-stick craft mat, spray with water and ink up my paper.
My dilemma comes after that....what to do with the leftover ink since I hate to waste it?   So now, I always keep an extra piece of cardstock handy to mop up the extra ink left behind and that is how this background came to be.

I used some Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean DOX, sprayed with water and pressed my cardstock into that.  After it dried, it was just a mess of color with no focal area, so I took a stencil and some Blueprint Sketch DOX and stenciled right over the inkiness.  I loved the results!
When that was all dry, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the sentiment with Memento black ink and clear heat embossed to help it pop against the inked background.
I die-cut the flowers, glued them in place and then I added some clear gems to help the flowers pop, keeping my card simple and very monochrome.

Thanks so much for coming by to take a look.
