Happy March 1st and where the heck did February go??
So....what do you do when you have a piece of alcohol inked Yupo that just doesn't work for you? You take some TH Alcohol Lifting ink and a stamp and create a card.
Here's what I did.
I had a piece of Yupo that was inked with Ranger AI inks. I just didn't like the colour blends so had stuck it into my stash. When I got this beautiful new At Grace stamp from Penny Black, I couldn't wait to play with it.
So I pulled that AI inked piece out and was determined to give it new life.
I placed the stamp into my Misti and positioned it over the piece of Alcohol inked Yupo paper. Using my Alcohol Lifting Ink, I stamped then removed the Yupo and stamped the flowers onto a piece of regular white cardstock. So quick and easy and I loved the results. It reminded me of a piece of fabric with the look of texture.
I stamped the sentiment from the Penny Black set called Smile Today with blue Archival ink and mounted the finished piece first onto coloured cardstock then onto a plain white card base.

EDITED: If you don't get a good print the first time, stamp onto the AI piece, wipe your stamp off and ink again with the lifting ink and stamp over again. Using a stamp positioner like the Misti is a very useful way to achieve this technique.

Gorgeous Karen, I must pull out my alcohol lifting ink, we buy all these products use them once and then on the shelf they go. Great inspiration :)

Having seen this I must get some alcohol lifting ink as this is gorgeous Karwn, and the turquoise coloured ink for the sentiment looks great, and some lovely matting and layering to finish. x

Karen, this is really a gorgeous card and I want you to know that is it because of people like you that I now have the Alcohol lift ink! I am easily enabled! I'll bet the AI background is nicer to look at now as well! I 'm playing with my ink tonight.

This does look like a piece of appliqued fabric, Karen! A beautiful way to "fix" and unhappy piece! I've yet to try my alcohol lift.

Now that's a good idea. It has no doubt transformed the initial yuppo ink card and love how you've used it on this card. Such a beautiful stamp and what a unique and fabulous effect you've achieved. Glorious card x
Gorgeous card.. up till now I could resist the temptation to buy the lifting ink (as I don't like AI).. but now .. you make it difficult to not put it on my wish list!
This is beautiful. Thank you for the great suggestion. Usually if I have an alcohol inked background I dislike, I'll clean it off and start over, but this worked so well.
