Snowflake Wishes

Hello and Welcome.
Snow.....something we don't have at the moment.
I'm not really a fan of it all, but I do like a bit for Christmas.
Anyways, finishing up a few cards to hand deliver.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I pulled out my Gel Plate again, brayer and some acrylic paint.  I brayered my plate with the 2 colours of paint, then pressed the Elegant Snowflake stencil/mask into the paint using the tip of my paintbrush to get good contact with the plate.
  • I removed the mask which also lifted some of the paint away to give me a faint impression of the snowflake.
  • I set that aside to dry while I stamped out the sentiment strip from TE.  I placed a piece of navy cardstock into my Misti, stamped the sentiment with some Versamark ink and white heat embossed it.
  • When I looked at the panel, it looked dull and needed something, so I laid the stencil back into place and rubbed on some Hero Arts white ink.  I grabbed my white Posca pen and added some dots along the edges of the snowflake which brought it right to life.
  • I also splattered the whole panel with some more white.
  • I cut the panel down and glued it onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
  • I pop dot mounted the sentiment along the bottom edge.

Here is the stencil I used:

Those dots are magical! You must have a very steady hand to make them perfect. This is a beautiful card.

I love what you have done with this really pretty snowflake stencil Karen and the added white ink and the added white dots around the edges of the leaves make it stand out beautifully against the strong blue/purple background you created on your gelli plate. x

Your card is gorgeous! I haven't been brave enough to use my gel plate yet. I hope I have the success you've had when I do.

Thanks for joining us at Little Red Wagon this week!
