Playing with Ink

Good Morning.
Super simple note card today.
I had some time to just play around with ink; something I love to do.

Here are my card details.
I planned on making a clean, CAS card so I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock for my card front.  Instead of inking directly onto my stamp, I wanted to try and get more of a watercoloured look so I rubbed my Distress Oxide ink pads onto my non-stick craft mat, sprayed with a bit of water and wiggled my stamp into the wet ink.  I was so pleased with the stamped image I achieved.
Simple yet elegant looking.
I scored a simple frame around the edges to define the area with my ScorPal and mounted it onto a white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Shining Bright - card #3

Well here it is.  The last of 3 cards that I challenged myself to create using this Fred Mullett stamp.
If you are just tuning in, this weekend, I challenged myself to make 3 different cards using the same image stamps.  I went for different colours and different layouts on all three.
This one is very CAS but I think it has a real elegant feel to it.  Saw the photo below and used those colours.
I started by stamping the image using a combination of Distress inks and spraying with water before stamping.  I added the sentiment and then the scoring lines to help pull it all together.

Special thanks to everyone who so kindly left me a comment or who came to take a peek to see what I was up to.  So very appreciated!!  I may try this again with another image stamp that has some dust on it from sitting in the drawer.

Hope you have a great week.

Happy Earth - card #2

If you tuned in yesterday, this wknd I am challenging myself to make 3 different cards using the same stamp.
So, here is card #2 inspired by the FS challenge and the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast (inspiration photo below)  I love how the Distress inks blend together when you add water and that is what I did with the image.  I then cut it out and rounded the corners and pop dot mounted it to the flat panel.  The embossed bkg. was created by turning the embossing folder on its side and then running it through my machine.  I added the scoring lines to clean up the edges.

Thanks so much for coming by to take a look and stay tuned for card #3.

Sunrise, Sunset - card #1

Welcome to the weekend.  So happy I am able to get a chance to stamp.
I decided to challenge myself to use this thistle image stamp on three different cards in different ways.  So, over the next couple of days, I will post the other cards that I create using it, so hope you can stay tuned and check in.
To start this challenge to myself, I checked out the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast and found the Pinterest image (below).  Loved the colours and the warmth it shed.
I started by inking up the stamp with Distress inks in orange and yellow, sprayed with water then stamped onto my card front.  I inked the stamp again with Memento grey and then repeated the image on my card front.
I am also adding this one to the Seize the Birthday; Anything Goes.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look...very appreciated!
