Add Leaves- The Flower Challenge

Welcome.
Happy news...you still have time to play along with us at
The Flower Challenge.

This month we are adding leaves but be sure that florals are the focal point.

We also welcome our Guest Designer this month:
Our Guest Designer this month is Galina Filippenko

So here are my card details.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and laid my Rectangle Mask from A Colorful Life Designs over my paper.  I wanted a nice, clean white border when finished and these masks work so well for this technique.  I laid the Messy Dot Grid stencil also from A Colorful Life Designs, over the mask and rubbed on some DOX inks (all colours listed below).
I removed the stencil and the mask, then placed the piece into my Misti to stamp the sentiment.
I stamped the flowers off to one side and clear heat embossed them to make them pop.
Using my ScorPal, I scored a border all around the inked area.  I love how it creates a framed look and adds a nice detail defining the space.

I simply mounted my finished piece onto a coordinating piece of green cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for taking a look.

Sweet Flowers

Good Morning and Happy Saturday.
Meet today's card....just me playing around with my Distress Oxide inks again.
Slight addiction.

I began by stamping these beautiful coneflowers which has been in my collection for years not seeing the light of day, with Versamark ink then white heat embossed them to one side of my white card front.
I wanted to create a background using some of the wonderful reds and oranges so here's what I did.
I used a piece of acetate, rubbed on some Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink, sprayed with water and pressed onto my white piece of cardstock.  I repeated that process using some Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Fired Brick.  I like to dry each layer in between with my heat tool.
When I was happy with the colour coverage of my cardstock, I did a bit of stenciling using some drywall tape and stamped a bit of script around the edges just to add further interest and depth to my piece.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Rubbernecker and mounted the whole thing onto a card.

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for coming by to take a look.

Natural Beauty

Winter is still here in a big way where I live, so I can't wait for the Spring to arrive!   Flowers in the garden, green grass, nature coming to life.  I have got that on the brain right now.
Today, I am playing along with a challenge at Splitcoast.  I have had this stamp in my stash for years and have seldom to never used it.  I coloured the stamp with Memento markers then sprayed with a fair bit of water before stamping.  I then cut that into a tag and mounted it onto a piece of fun green gingham.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
Simon Says- WEDDING or ANNIVERSARY
The Card Concept- FLORAL THEME
Retro Sketches- TAG

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and happy stamping.

Chillin Out

Chillin out...that's what I plan on doing today.  Here is a card I made for the challenge at Splitcoast today and here is how I made it.  First I started by inking up my acrylic block with different shades of blue and green Distress inks.  Before stamping, I sprayed it with water to help the colours blend.  I stamped the flip-flops onto yellow gingham paper and cut them out so I could pop dot them onto the inked part of my card. Stamped this sentiment from Daisy Bucket that is so fun.
I am also adding this card to the CASology challenge; Yellow and the Addicted to CAS challenge; teenager.  It seems every teenager I see in the mall is wearing flip-flops these days.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
