Tie Dye Garden and Tutorial

Hello and Welcome

Trying something new out today.  I think it's so fun to play with a new technique and I wanted to show you how easy it and I could use the inks I already have on hand.  I read the tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers but decided to take some pics so you could see how I did it.

So here's what I did.

I began with a plain, white coffee filter from the Dollar Store.

I scrunched it all up into a ball creating lots of creases and folds.

I opened the filter up, sprayed with water and gathered it together from the center out....sort of like holding a fan shape.

I took my Distress Oxide ink pads and rubbed it directly onto the filter, rotating it as I went along.

After I was happy with the inking, I opened the filter up and flattened it out to reveal this.
*when you open it up if there isn't enough inking on spots, just refold and ink again*

So when the inked filter was all nice and dry, I glued it onto a piece of heavy cardstock, folding over the edges and gluing them around the back.
Use a glue stick to adhere as the liquid glue will most likely make a mess.
I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the sentiment using some Versafine black ink.
I die-cut the flowers and glued them over the bkg.
I mounted it all onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
