Birthday Greetings

Here is a card I made using some of the newly released stamps from Penny Black.  I cut the shape of the card using the Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangles.  I stamped the bunny, coloured with Copics and cut her out.  I pop dotted her onto the bkg that I created by sponging on Distress ink while the paper was still in the die, then added the flower bkg.called Touch of Whimsy.  The sentiment is from the set called Gratitude.

Reflections

Here is a one layer card I made using stamps from Penny Black.  I love the look of the frilly flower.  I coloured the stamp using Memento markers then sprayed with water before stamping.  It gives such a wonderful watercolouring effect.  I stamped the sentiment then added a black line to around the edge to pull it all together.  Added the pearls for to balance it all out.

Woven Wishes

I had time to make another card today....yeah!!  I wanted to play along with two challenges; one is the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge....to use black and pastel colours.  The other is the challenge at Moxie Fab...to use paper scraps for your project.  My card uses paper scrap strips that are cut a quarter of an inch wide and woven through slits I made in the cardstock.  Had to fiddle with the strips a bit to get them to fit but it all worked out fine in the end.
Thanks so much for taking a look today.

Special Anniversary

Sunday was a very special day.  My inlaws celebrated their 63rd Anniversary....how many people can say they have been together for that long!  This is the card I made for them using some of my favourite new stamps from Penny Black.  First I stamped the Flowers Sweet twice, coloured with Copics and then cut one part of the flower out so I could pop dot it for interest.  Using a Spellbinders die, cut out the flower and mounted it on the side.  Added the tag with sentiment using the set called Gratitude.

Eat Cupcakes!!

It's Monday and who doesn't love a good cupcake.  I am very happy I had time to make a card as I wanted to play along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast and the challenge at Moxie Fab....to use paper scraps.
I have many scraps so decided to use them to create a bkg. for my cupcake.  I cut 1inch strips and glued them onto a piece of white card on an angle.  I mounted that piece on a slightly larger piece of white and pop dotted it for interest.  The cupcake from Basic Grey is stamped and cut out and pop dotted too.  Sentiment is BG too.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a peek.

Best of Friends

Wow...can't believe it's Friday already!  Must be all this fabulous warm weather and all the time spent outside this week.  LOVED it..next week, back to frost.   Today's card is all about the warm weather and being in the garden.  I so love this hollyhock stamp from Innovative Stamp Creations.  It is a solid stamp and just works so perfectly with my favourite technique; watercolouring with markers.
I coloured the flowers using my Memento markers, spray with water before stamping.  I really am surprised with the effects I achieve, it is different every time.  Added the score lines and kept the whole thing really CAS (clean and simple).
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look today.  Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend.

Happy Birthday

Here is a card I made for my DH...just celebrated another birthday.  I always feel pleased when I can create a decent masculine card...sometimes I struggle with that.  I am adding this one to the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.  First I masked the side area with post it notes, sponged on two colours of Distress Inks then over stamped with the Grunge Me set from PTI.  Lastly I used my Scor pal to score the lines on the sides, added twine and the sentiment rounded with my Corner Chomper.
Thanks for taking a look.
