Mix It Up Birthday

Welcome
Meet today's card featuring this fun Cow Hide stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
I wanted to try and give it a different look.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • Like I mentioned above, I wanted to give the Cow Hide stencil a more unique look, plus I didn't have a cow stamp.  I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed it onto my Make Art Station.
  • Next, I positioned the Marvelous Masks Rectangle also from A Colorful Life Designs into the corner.  I wanted to use it for simplicity instead of having to mask.
  • I laid the stencil over the mask and inked it up with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the rectangle mask (I did end up having to do a bit of masking using low tack tape) and repeated the process, again inking with some Mustard Seed and then some Carved Pumpkin.
  • When the card front panel was all inked, I added some details by stamping over the areas with the  same colour as I had used to ink it up.
  • I stamped the sentiment with some black ink and clear heat embossed it.
  • I carefully splattered with my black Posca pen just around the sentiment.
  • I glued it onto a piece of black cardstock, then onto an A2 card base.
  • To finish off my card, I added 3 black gems.

Here is the stencil and mask I used:

Joy

Hello
It's been such a busy time of year but I wanted to get a chance to post this card before the holiday season was over.
I created a very simple design and wanted to use as many of the snowflakes from the First Snow set by Penny Black as I could with this sentiment.

I began by die cutting the Jumbo JOY letters also from Penny Black, onto some scrap paper to use as a mask.  I applied some repositionable adhesive to the back of the letters and stuck them down.
Next, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the snowflakes all over the masked area.
When I was happy with the coverage, I rubbed over the center area with some Peacock Feathers DOX ink, then removed the masks.
To help add more interest, I added some blue Nuvo drops to the center of the snowflakes.

I mounted the finished front onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.

Something Different

Good Morning
Meet my card.
Trying something different to get a unique look using this fun stencil called Tribal Blanket and my Distress Oxide inks.  It's good to change it up now and again and I like to challenge myself to use what I have in a new way.

I decided to give this card a 'beachy' look by creating some waves.
I began by cutting some printer paper into wavey lines to use as masks for my card front.
I placed one the wave masks onto my card, laid down the stencil and rubbed on some Salty Ocean DOX ink.
I lifted the mask and leaving some white space, masked the next area and stenciled in using the same stencil and some Peacock Feather DOX ink this time.  I repeated that process using some Blueprint Sketch and Cracked Pistachio at the bottom, each time leaving a bit of white space.
When that was all dry, I took my ScorBug which is a little tool that adds perforated dots, and scored along the wavy lines to add interest.
I die-cut the Happy Birthday sentiment 3 times from white cs, then glued them together to help give them stability and to raise them up on my card front.
I then glued it over my stenciling.
I added some Navy Sparkle Nuvo drops, then simply mounted it onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
