Cheers

Good Morning.
Meet today's card inspired by the challenge at Splitcoast Stampers this morning; to create a card using your birthstone colour.  Fun, right?
Since my birthday is January 1st, (yes, I'm a New Year's baby) so my colour is Garnet.  For those of you that don't know, Garnet is a deep shade of red.

So onto my card.  I do love playing around with my Distress Oxide inks.  I did some acetate inking along the side of my card front using Fired Brick and Candied apple DOX ink.  To see a pictorial of this technique go HERE.
Next, I took out my Circles Make Circles stencil and added some stenciling along the side of my card using more of the Fired Brick.  Next I randomly inked up my Graffiti stamp and pressed that over the inked area just to add some more interest and texture.
I placed the piece inside my Misti and stamped the sentiment and the silhouette and clear heat embossed to help make them pop against the bkg.
I mounted the piece onto some black cardstock then onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

I love the two reds together and the background stamping and stencilling looks great with that fantastic silhouette rock musician and the large stamped sentiment in black which make a wonderful contrast to the red and white. x

A great card, Karen! It looks a bit like he’s painting the wall while he plays guitar. I like that. Very cool background for his actions.

My birthstone is a garnet too. Great background inking and stencilling and a fabulous image. I know a few boys that would be pleased to get a card like this. Thanks for playing at The Male Room, hope to see you joining in with future challenges too.

Fabulous male card, Karen! I love the red stencilled and stamp background for the silhouette stamp. Both my sons are guitarists, so I may have to get that stamp! Thanks for playing along at Seize The Birthday :)
