Noel

Welcome
Meet today's card.
Couldn't be more simple to create using a piece of cardstock that I rolled excess paint off onto while Gel Plate printing and an embossing folder.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by looking through my stash of inked pieces, found this one and thought it would make a pretty card.  It was a piece of white cardstock that I had rolled paint off my brayer onto while Gel Plate printing.  I like to keep my 'roll offs' just for this reason.
  • I took the panel and placed it into the Perfect Poinsettia embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.  This folder from Altenew is a 3-D and gives such a wonderful impression.
  • Next, using a sanding block, I sanded the paper carefully to remove some of the pink paint on the panel.  I love how it looked.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen to add more interest and to give a snowy feel to the flowers.
  • I made sure to keep one of the little pieces that I cut from the paint roll off to use as the sentiment flag.  I placed the small piece into my Misti and stamped the 'Noel' onto it with some Versamark ink and then white heat embossed it.
  • I glued the sanded panel onto a heavy white card base, then pop dotted the sentiment at the top.
  • Finally, I added a few clusters of some tiny white pearls.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

So pretty, Karen! I find I like the rolled off pieces better than the gel plate pieces!

I love the pink tones and such a wonderful background made from a brayer roll off and the sanding down of the embossed poinsettia design and the added white spattering works brilliantly, and the coordinating sentiment using another piece of the scrap.. a gorgeous card Karen. x
