Goodness

Happy Saturday!

Time to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast and today we are being inspired by the Starbucks site.  Coffee and stamping.....goodness.
Here is the cup I was inspired by:

I began by die-cutting the flowers using a die from Memory Box.  I love the look of the delicate flowers.  Using some temporary adhesive, I glued the flowers to my watercolour paper.
Then I sprinkled Brushos over the top and sprayed with water.
TIP:  Remove the masks immediately after spraying with water so the paint won't saturate the paper you used for masking and blur your image.

Adding my card to these challenges:

CASology- PRECIOUS
(my coffee and stamping time are very precious to me!)

Happy Little Stampers- MASKING

Nature's Calling

Nature's Calling or I just have the beach on the brain, hence this card.

I just got a new stamp set called One with Nature from Simon Says and wanted to play with it.  Saw this challenge at Splitcoast and was off to ink up my paper and stamps.

I began by applying some Goosebumps to my watercolour paper.  For those of you that are unfamiliar with Goosebumps, it is a clear liquid medium that you can use as a resist.  I just splattered some onto my paper, let it dry and then added the blue.  I did that by sprinkling some Brusho blues onto a non-stick craft sheet, sprayed with water then dragged my paper through the wet paint.  I just love the effect it created with some of the white space still remaining.
While that was drying, I stamped the leaf outline and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then using the solid stamp from the set, I stamped using Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink over the embossing and cut it out.  Stamped the sentiment from the set too.
Lastly, I scored a line top and bottom to define the inked piece.

Adding my card to these challenges:

Less is More- LIFE'S A BEACH

Hope you had a great weekend...it just goes by too quickly!

Brusho Magic

Brusho magic.
That's how I feel about this wonderful paint medium.  Just sprinkle, spray with water and watch the magic happen.  I wanted to make a simple card and thought the Brushos would work for that.
Well, they didn't disappoint.

I began by sprinkling Purple Brusho onto the top part of my 90lb. watercolour paper and then sprinkled some Emerald Green onto the bottom part of the paper.  I then sprayed the whole thing with a generous amount of water and watched it all blend together.  I also dripped a bit of bleach over the piece to remove some of the paint to add interest.
When my paper was all dry, I used a die and cut the center of the card so I could use that piece to stamp the This Day sentiment from Penny Black and embossed with white.  I mounted that onto a black piece of cardstock and pop dotted it over the cut away area.

Adding my card to these challenges:
