Catch a Star

Good Morning and Welcome.
We enjoyed such a wonderful sunny, warm summer weekend here.
My card depicts the feeling of playing out in the garden in the summertime.

So onto my card details.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and placed my acrylic Rectangle Mask from A Colorful Life Designs over that. I just love how easy these masks are to use and no more taping or paper tearing.
Next, I inked up my acetate sheet with some Cracked Pistachio and some Broken China DOX inks, sprayed with water and pressed onto my white cardstock.  I repeated that process until I was happy with the coverage.
When that was all dry, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the flowers first, the girl and then the sentiment with some Blueprint DOX ink.  I clear heat embossed the girl to help make her pop and I also rubbed some ink along the bottom edge to help ground the flowers.
I removed the mask and glued the piece onto some navy cardstock then onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Reach for the Stars

This week, the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast was to create a card with a star on it.  Well I scratched my head as I have maybe 2 star stamps, then remembered this sweet silhouette image of the girl catching a star.
I began by inking up my embossing folder with Distress inks
(colours:  Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves , Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint)
sprayed with water then pressed my paper into the wet ink.  The colours blend with the water and you are left with the impression of the embossing folder on your cardstock.  When that was all dry, I stamped the girl and the sentiment in Memento black.

Wishing on a Star

Here is a simple card for a simple Sunday.  I am playing along with the FS challenge at Splitcoast, the Simon Says Stamp challenge (Anything Goes) and the Addicted to CAS challenge (Take Flight).
I love gingham...so simple but makes such an impact.  I stamped the image so it would be on my gingham paper and partly on the white.  I added the sentiment from Penny Black and the twine.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
