Listen

Welcome
Today's card features a background I did with some shaving cream and this great stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Flower Head.  This stencil is large and makes the perfect backdrop for stamping.

So here's what I did to create my card:
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock as my front panel and positioned my stencil over that.
  • Next, I got my shaving cream ready by spraying some out onto a paper plate and tinted it with some Distress Re-inkers.  I used the end of a paintbrush to swirl the colours together to blend them.

  • Using an old gift card, I picked up some of the tinted shaving cream and pulled that over top of the stencil.
  • I removed the stencil and set aside to dry.  When dry, I used a clean credit card to go back over the top of the shaving cream to remove all the excess and was left with this lovely image.
  • I placed the shaving cream background into my Misti, then stamped the dragonfly and the sentiment from Visible Image with some Versafine Clair ink.
  • I glued it onto a piece of white cardstock to act as a border, then onto a piece of black cardstock and then finally onto a white card base.
  • Lastly, I added 3 black enamel dots just under the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:

Trick or Treat

Morning.
I don't tend to make Halloween cards, but when I saw this great TH set on for a steal at Michaels, I just had to own it.  I love the spider web and the set has some really cute images in it.

So onto my background.
As most of you already know, I love playing around creating bkgs.  I was using some shaving cream and re-inkers for another project and had some leftover on the plate I was using.  I didn't want it to go to waste, so I pressed a piece of cardstock into the inked shaving cream and put the dry piece away in my stash.  I like to have backgrounds ready and waiting for quick card making.
How to do this technique.....spread some shaving cream onto a paper plate (that makes for easy clean-up).  Drop some re-inkers onto the shaving cream and swirl it around.  I used a little spatula but you could use the end of a paint brush or a popsicle stick.  Gently press the paper into the shaving cream, set aside to dry.  Scrape off the excess with an old credit card to reveal a beautiful bkg.

I placed the inked bkg into my Misti and stamped the images and the sentiment.
To give it an even more eerie look, I rubbed the edges with some Black Soot DOX ink and splattered with some black acrylic paint.
I mounted it onto a piece of white, then black, then onto a heavy white cardbase.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

More Favourite Flowers- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning
Here is another card I made for

Our theme this month is to stamp with your favourite flower.
We are also welcoming our talented Guest Designer
Therese Calvird from Lost in Paper.

We have another PRIZE to give away to our lucky winner again this month. The lovely Michelle from Clearly Besotted is sponsoring us and giving away an e-gift card worth £20.
Michelle has some gorgeous stamps/die/stencils, do check out her website/blog if you haven't already.

It is really hard for me to pick the flowers that are my favourite as I have so many!
I decided to make a little garden scene using some daisy silhouettes.  I do love seeing the white heads of my daisies in the early summer.  They seem to come and go too quickly for my liking.

So onto my card details.
I began with a stenciled background.  I laid my Groovy Flower stencil over a piece of heavy white cardstock and rubbed over it with some shaving cream that I had tinted with my Distress Re-inkers.  Using an old credit card, I spread the inky shaving cream over this  stencil in a thin layer.  I set that aside to dry before scrapping off the excess cream to reveal this lovely pattern.
I placed the dried bkg. into my Misti then stamped over it with the Grid Background to add more interest.
Using more of the black ink, I stamped the daisies and the sentiment.
I simply mounted it onto another piece of white cardstock then onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by to take a look.
I hope you come and play along with us.
