Retro Christmas

Welcome
Time for a new release at A Colorful Life Designs.
I created this simple card using this fun, new Marvelous Masks Diamond.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock and placed one of the medium sized Diamonds into the center of my card panel.  I inked it up with some Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the mask over to the left and then the right, inking again with the Distress Oxide ink.
  • I cleaned off the stencil, moved it to the top and then the bottom to ink with some Lucky Clover DOX ink.
  • When the inking was all done, I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • When dry, I placed it into my Misti, rubbed over with my anti-static powder and stamped the sentiment.
  • I glued it onto a piece of white cardstock, then popped that over a piece of red cardstock, then onto a white card base.
  • Finally, I added 3 black gems to finish it off.

Presents

Hello and Welcome
Today's card features the new Presents stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
A really fun one to create with and is just one of the releases.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock, laid it onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Presents stencil over that.
  • Starting at the top, I inked it up in an ombre style using Distress Oxide inks.  The colours I used from top to bottom are Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Barn Door, Fired Brick and a touch of Aged Mahogany along the bottom.
  • I removed the stencil and splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • Next, I used this fun Ho Ho Ho die that comes with the frame, to die cut directly from the inked panel.
  • I glued the large panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto an A2 size card base.
  • I popped the die cut pieces back into place over the panel.
  • Lastly, I added 3 silver gems to add interest and a bit of shine.

Wish Upon a Star

Welcome
Today's card was a fun one to create.
It may look like strips of paper I cut, but actually it's all done using 2 stencils.
I pulled out the Dream Stars and paired it up with the Layered Bands.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed it onto my Make Art Station.
  • I laid the Layered Bands stencil over my paper.  This stencil comes with the masking pieces which was very helpful when inking up the different colours.
  • I used Distress Oxides to ink, masked and inked again.  The colours I used from the top to the bottom:  Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, Prize Ribbon, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed.
  • I cleaned the stencil off and repositioned it over my card panel.
  • I laid the Dream Stars stencil over that and inked with some Blueprint Sketch over the bands of colour.
  • I removed both stencils and die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment shadow from the center of the inked panel and the sentiment from some white cardstock and glued them together.
  • I splattered the panel with my Posca pen for interest.
  • I glued the finished panel onto an A2 card base and popped the sentiment back into place.
