Happy Hooray!

Happy September!!
There is a crispness in the air and the kids are going back to school.
A new month also means a new lineup of stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, some great Fall inspired designs.
Today's card features one of the new release called

I thought I'd use some Fall colours so here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Quarter Moons stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • I wanted to add interest to the design, so I left the stencil in place and put the Bauhaus Circle Mask stencil (last month's release) right over it and inked again with some Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink.
  • I placed the stenciled panel into my Misti to stamp the sentiment and clear heat embossed it.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of orange cardstock, then onto white, then yellow and finally onto an A2 sized card base.
  • Lastly, I added 3 black gems around the sentiment to finish off my card.

Here are the stencils I used:

So Happy

Welcome
A simple, colourful card today using the new for August stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

Here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Bauhaus Circle Mask on an angle over my paper and secured well.
  • Beginning at the top, I inked with some Distress Oxide inks: Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and finally some Salty Ocean along the bottom edge.
  • I took the stencil off and used the Happy Cover die to cut out the panel.
  • I glued the die cut panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then glued back in some of the piece from the die cut.
  • I glued that onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I stamped the 'wishes' and die cut it out.  I added it into the bottom corner.

Here is the stencil I used:

Warm Wishes for You

Good Morning
Here is another one of the new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs for August that I played with and it's called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock, placed the Bauhaus Pinwheels stencil over that and inked it up with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • I cleaned the stencil off, shifted it and placed it back down.  I inked again using some Picked Raspberry DOX ink.
  • I splattered the panel with my white Posca pen and I added white dots to some of the inked areas.
  • While that dried, I stamped the sentiment with some more of the Ripe Persimmon ink and die cut it out.
  • I glued my stenciled card panel onto a piece of orange cardstock and then onto a white A2 card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the middle of the background.
  • Finally, I added some silver gems around the sentiment for more interest.

Wishing You Well

Hello and Welcome
Today's card is a simple one to create.
I used the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's how I created my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Mid Century Breeze Squares stencil over that.
  • I wanted to make each square a different colour, so I masked off the first one and inked with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the mask and inked again with some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.  I repeated that same process again, inking this time with some Wilted Violet DOX.
  • I removed the stencil and I used the Hemstitch die to cut a frame around the edge.
  • I die cut the sentiment with some purple cardstock, then some white cardstock 4 more times as I wanted to make a stacked sentiment.
  • I glued my stenciled card base onto a piece of white cardstock, then purple, then finally onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the sentiment over the middle area of my card base and added 3 purple gems around it.

Here is the stencil I used:

Better With You

Good Morning.
Here's a simple, monochromatic card I made using the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Mid Century Star Balls over a piece of white cardstock and inked using some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • When the ink was all dry, I used a fine line black marker to draw a border around the edge to add interest.
  • Next, I stamped the sentiment with more of the Picked Raspberry ink and used some clear embossing powder to heat set it. I die cut that out.
  • I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, the onto a piece of pink and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I popped the sentiment over my card front with some foam dots.

Simple Note

Hello and Welcome
Meet the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

I decided to make a more masculine black and white card, so here's what I did.
  • For my this card, I began by getting out my Gel Plate.  I pressed my Black Soot Distress Oxide ink pad directly onto the plate and I used my brayer to spread the ink evenly.
  • I place the Mid Century Double Rainbow stencil over that, then rubbed a piece of white cardstock over the stencil to create the print.
  • I repeated the steps mentioned above, but this time I turned the stencil sideways and printed right over the first one to create this pattern.  I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I die cut a circle from the middle of the dried panel and cut another circle from a piece of black cardstock and glued them together.
  • I die cut the sentiment from some black cardstock and the word shadow from a piece of white and glued those together.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of black and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the large circle back into place, matching up the pattern and then glued the sentiment over that.

Here is the stencil I used:

Wrap Around

Good Morning
Meet this new geometric stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • Today, I thought I would look through my patterned papers where I found this blue check paper.  That was my starting point.
  • I placed the Bauhaus stencil over the patterned paper and inked it up with some Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, I die cut the flowers with some white cardstock.  I die cut a circle with a piece of navy cardstock, then some blue to match the stenciled panel and glued those together.
  • I cut my white cardstock base with a top fold design, then scored and glued my stenciled piece so it wrapped around from the front to the back.  I trimmed the edges with a narrow piece of the blue cardstock to give it a more finished look.
  • Finally, to finish off my card, I used some foam tape to add the flower circle over my card front.

Here is the stencil I used:
