Good Morning.
Today, my blog post is a bit different as I have the pleasure of hosting my first Tutorial at
Splitcoast Stampers about how to paint your stamps instead of inking them up.
Splitcoast Stampers about how to paint your stamps instead of inking them up.
To read the whole tutorial go here:
For the tutorial, I created 3 cards using the same stamp from Penny Black called Trumpet Song so you could get a really good idea about how different effects can be achieved using different mediums.
Card #1- Painting Your Stamp With Brushos
For this card, I masked the edges of my card, inked the flowers with Brushos diluted with water and stamped.
When dry, I stamped the sentiment from PB and sponged the edges with Salty Ocean Distress ink and removed the masks.
Brushos colors used: Leaf Green/Emerald Green/ Marine Blue/ Turquoise
Card #2- Painting Your Stamp With Waterbased Markers
For this card, I once again masked the edges of my card and inked my flowers by coloring directly onto the rubber with Memento and Crayola markers, sprayed with water and stamped.
When dry, I stamped the sentiment from PB and sponged the edges with Salty Ocean Distress ink and removed the masks.
Card #3- Painting Your Stamp With Watercolor Crayons
For this card, I colored my stamp with Staedtler Watercolor Crayons, added water and stamped.
I stamped the PB sentiment, sponged the edges with Salty Ocean Distress ink again and removed the masks.
I think this one is my favourite; love the soft tones and the wash effect.
Adding my cards to these challenges:
Simon Says- ANYTHING GOES
Addicted to Stamps and More- MAKE YOUR MARK
Dragonfly Journeys- FLOWERS
I hope you check out my tutorial and please let me know what you think!!!
I would really appreciate hearing from you.
