Hello.
I am so grateful that you took some time to stop by and see what I have been up to.
Playing with a fun stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and some Distress Re-inkers today to create this card and give it a unique, watercoloured look.
So onto my card details and here is what I did.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and laid the Curly Q stencil over my paper.
Next, I laid a wet baby wipe over that and dropped on some Distress Re-inkers right onto the baby wipe. I tried to distribute the colours as best I could. I took a piece of acetate and laid that over so I could press the wet ink from the baby wipe directly into the grooves of the stencil and not get the ink all over my hands. I let it soak in a bit then removed the acetate, baby wipe and the stencil to reveal this fun pattern. I love the watercolour look that it has.
If you still have a lot of ink on the baby wipe, repeat the process using a different stencil or just press the colour onto another piece of cardstock to give you a colourful background.
When it was dry, I placed it into my Misti and stamped the sentiment, then clear heat embossed it.
I mounted it onto a piece of coordinating blue cardstock then onto a plain white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

What an interesting technique Karen and the blue tones look fabulous using that pretty stencil, and the sentiment is great. x
I love your baby wipe stenciling technique with a beautiful choice of Distress inks, Karen. Your sentiment is the perfect choice for your Artsy background. TFS Hugs...Nancy

OK....So how do you keep coming up with these fabulous techniques? Such a unique and artsy effect. Love the watery effect too on your amazing card x
I saw this on my very infrequent visits to Facebook and this is why I love blogs....I get to read how things are made and learn new techniques and get hugely inspired......Thank you x.
Karen, what a marvelous technique! Thank you for explaining it so thoroughly. I especially like that the watercolor "blurs" the exactness of the stencils! Do you use the acetate to prevent the ink from staining your fingers? It's a wonderful way of playing with our reinkers. Beautiful creation! hugs, de
Using baby wipes is addictive isn't it, Karen! I love that you've found a different way to use them! Love the results and hope to give it a try!
WHat a great way to use a baby wipe to colour through your stencil, Karen. Usig the acetate is also clever ... I always end up with super inky fingers when stenciling, which tend to leave smudges of ink where I don't want them. :) This is really beautiful and I love the sentiment. Great work!! xx
Another stunning card my friend,I love it 😀 hugs Viv xx
I am loving the results you achieved on this beauty! It really has a psychedelic vibe to it and so totally retro. Thanks for playing along with us at JUGS!
Okay, this is a technique I've never heard of before. Very cool! Love how your card turned out, xoxo
