Filigree Leaf

Happy Saturday!
Today's card combines 2 of the new stencils for September from A Colorful Life Designs called:

These stencils work perfectly together to create any Fall/Autumn inspired cards.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Filigree Leaf stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Distress Oxide inks in these colours:  Rustic Wilderness, Ripe Persimmon, Lumberjack Plaid and Fossilized Amber.
  • I set that aside to dry and then placed the Falling Leaves stencil on one side of another piece of white cardstock and inked it again with the above mentioned colours.  I moved the stencil over to the other side of my cardstock and inked again, creating a trail of leaves down the left and right hand side of my card front.
  • Next, I fussy cut out the Filigree Leaf by just following along the leafy edges.
  • I glued my stenciled card front to a piece of dark red cardstock and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the large leaf over the background.
  • I popped the sentiment strip over the leaf to finish off my card.

Here are the stencils I used:

Beautiful colours perfect for the season Karen, and the the Filigree Leaf and Falling Leaves stencils go together brilliantly. I love the design too with the leaf cut out and placed over the leaves stencilled either side on another piece of card, and matted on that deep red it looks great...a terrific card. x
