Thankful Heart

Meet today's card.
I think it feels so good to have a 'thankful heart'!
I am so thankful and blessed to have all of you that come and visit my blog to see what I have been up to.
A big thanks for that.

Here's what I did to create my card.
I love this embossing folder from Carabelle.  It has a bit of a graffiti/grunge feel to it.  I wanted to use it to do some Embossing Folder Inking.
I cut a heart mask from printer paper and used the negative part to mask my piece of cardstock.  I inked up the embossing folder with Distress Oxide inks, sprayed with water and pressed over the masked area.  I removed the mask right away and dried with my heat tool.  I love the watery impression it left behind.
Using scissors, I fussy cut out the heart leaving a slight white border around the edge.
Next, it was onto my card front.  Using my ScorPal, I scored 3 lines where I wanted the heart to be placed and to help break up the embossed background.  Then using the same embossing folder as I had for the inked heart, I embossed the top of my panel up to the scored lines then the bottom portion stopping before the scoring.
I used the new sentiment set from Penny Black called Grateful Heart to stamp the center of the heart and then pop dotted it over my embossed card front.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

I LOVE this heart, Karen! I’ve got to slowly study your description of how you did that. It looks so very awesome cool. And the sentiment stamped over the top looks so great. Have I at all mentioned how much I like this?!!

You'd never know it was the same folder, Karen, with the two totally different looks. The red really stands out against the images and the sentiment stands out against it.

Love the way you used the same embossing folder for the background and for stamping on the heart - fabulous card! And I agree, we should all have thankful hearts for so many things.

I love this heart with the embossing folder inking and the complementary embossed background in white is a good contrast in white with the lovely red layer beneath, and I adore the swirly sentiment script. A beautiful card Karen. x
