Hello and Welcome
Meet my card. I like to have some extra sympathy cards on hand. They aren't the easiest to make during such a sad moment and to have some done is a welcome relief.
So here's what I did to create my card.
I began with this leaf embossing folder and inked it up with some Distress Oxide ink.
I sprayed it with some water, then ran it though my Cuttlebug machine. I really like the imprint it left behind.
Next, I took my Simple Grid stencil and added some details in the corners for interest using some Hickory Smoke DOX ink. I also rubbed some along all the edges with the same ink, using an inking tool.
I placed the piece into my Misti to stamp the sentiment and added a few black enamel dots for interest.
I mounted it onto a heavy white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

This is very serene. I like the idea of doing the embossing technique and then adding some stenciling. Sometimes that technique doesn’t give enough detail so your two step process is wonderful.
This is beautifully done Karen and is exactly right look with the Hickory Smoke which is not too dark, and the leaves and grid stencil go perfectly together. x
Absolutely perfect sympathy card beautifully made! xxx
Beautiful Karen, the monochromatic colour scheme is perfect for a sympathy card :)
What a great way to use the embossing folder, and with the addition of the stencil, you have created a wonderful card Karen.
Blessings

Another gorgeous creation, Karen. I haven't done one of these EB folder pressing in a long time - can't wait to do another! Thanks for the reminder of the great impact they can have.
Is it awful that sympathy/thinking of you cards are my favorites to make? I just know how much I appreciate them when I receive one myself.
