Heirloom Roses

Good Morning
I hope you are all well in these unusual times.  I do find myself at loose ends some days, but I am grateful to have a hobby that I enjoy.
Here is a card I made while playing with Vicki Boutin's Art Crayons. They are highly pigmented and are easy to dilute with water.

So here's what I did to create my card.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and placed it into my Misti.  I took a pink VB Art Crayon and scribbled it onto my acrylic sheet.  Using a wet paint brush, I diluted the crayon then painted the pink onto my roses and stamped.  I repeated that process with some red and then some green until the whole image was painted.
I used the diluted crayon still left on my palette to splatter the background to add interest.
When it was dry, I stamped the sentiment using my Misti again.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!

Happy Mother's Day to you!! This is GORGEOUS!! I would never have thought to dilute my crayon and paint it on the stamp. Now I have a new technique to try. I LOVE how the flowers came out on your card!!

I love your pretty pink flowers Karen and a great idea to use these crayons scribbled and water added ad using a brush to add the diluted colour to the stamp. A loose and beautifully watery finish, and there must be masses of pigment for the colour to look so strong. I have some Derwent art bars and wonder if I could use them in the same way. You have got me thinking now. x

Gorgeous roses, Karen! I've never tried this technique for stamps. I'll have to get out my crayons and give it a try! Happy Mother's Day to you too, my friend!

Wonderful technique! I must try that with the watercolour crayons I have, though they may not be as highly pigmented as yours. Love the colours of the roses and the subtle background and splatters.
