Hello and Welcome
Meet today's card.
I know.....a Christmas card in the middle of a heat wave!!
I am trying so hard to get ahead of the game before I have to go back to work. I have been so inspired by the videos that Vicki Boutin has posted and so I have been making backgrounds ready to be turned into some cards.
So here's what I did to create my card.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock and spread Gesso over the panel as if I was buttering my toast. Pretty thin layers and I left some white areas as well.
Next, using an applicator brush, I applied some Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks onto my panel and dried it. I did some ink lifting with the Meshing Around Stencil from Visible Image with a baby wipe. I also splashed water to add to the interest and to do more lifting of the colour. When I was happy with the results, I dried it using my heat tool.
Next, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the snowflakes and added a clear gem to the centers. I splattered the whole panel with white paint using my Posca pen then pop dotted the sentiment over the snowflakes.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
I so do appreciate all your kindness.

This is very pretty Karen with the three background colours and the stencilling, and the the beautiful snowflakes over the top with a super sentiment to finish. I love it. I have just looked at some Vicky Boutin videos and she certainly mixes it up. I must give some of this a go I think. Thanks for the inspiration. x
