The Journey

Hello and Welcome
Here is a collage style card I made recently.  Also wanted to play with some new stamps I picked up by AALL and Create.

So onto my card details.

  • I began by getting out my Gel Plate and rolled on some different shades of blue paint.  I lifted some off as I wanted the print to have some white open space.
  • I laid down a maple leaf that I pulled off of the tree at the front of my house and pushed it into the wet paint with the vein sides down.
  • I lifted the leaf off and then took the print onto some heavy white cardstock.  I love how just part of the leaf lifted, almost looks like a ghosting impression.
  • Using a few different stamps, I inked them up with some Archival ink and stamped randomly over the painted surface.
  • I placed the piece into my Misti, stamped the sentiment with some black Versafine Clair ink, then clear heat embossed it.
  • I mounted the piece onto some black cardstock, then onto a matching background colour.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

I love the look you achieved with the maple leaf Karen and lots of interesting stamping in the background but not too heavy, and a great sentiment to finish. x

What a delicate effect with the leaf and the gel plate Karen. Great to use a real leaf and such an artsy looking card. The new AALL small set stamps look great on the background too x.
