Comfort and Peace

Hello and Welcome
Today's card were part of a challenge to create one inked or stamped piece of cardstock, then cut in half to create 2 cards.

So, here's what I did to create my cards.
  • On my walk, I collected some grasses and leaves that I wanted to use on my cards.
  • I got out my Gel Plate and pressed some Bundled Sage, Cracked Pistachio and some Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink directly onto my Gel Plate.  I used my brayer to blend the colours together.
  • Next, I carefully laid the grasses I had picked up onto the plate, then rubbed a piece of white cardstock over the Plate to create the print.
  • I used my black Posca pen and splattered over the images.
  • When it was all dry, I cut the piece of white cardstock in half to create 2 A2 sized card.
  • I placed the inked panel into my Misti and one at a time, stamped the sentiment onto them.
  • I glued each finished panel onto a piece of green cardstock before adding it to the base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Treasure Your Memories

Hello and Welcome
First, I want to say a big thanks to all of you that gave me feedback about posting the steps to my cards in a bullet form.  It seems everyone is in favor of me doing that so glad that will make it easier to follow especially if you want to try and give it a go.

This card is a super simple one using this flower from Stampin Up.  I like to have some sympathy cards on hand just in case I need them.

So onto my card details.
1.  I positioned a piece of heavy white cardstock into my Misti and stamped the first flower in the
bottom left hand corner.  That gave an idea of placement for the other two flowers.
2.  I moved the flower in the Misti and stamped it two more times; one above and one beside.
(Using the Misti, makes it easy to get a crisp, solid image as you can repeat stamp if needed.)
3.  I dried the ink, then placed the panel back into my Misti to stamp the sentiment in black.
4.  I clear embossed the sentiment to make it pop against the flowers.
5.  I mounted the panel onto a piece of matching grey cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Memories to Treasure

Hello and Welcome.
I'm playing with inks again to see what colour combinations I can come up with other then blue (wink, wink).
Today, I am using the 'Swipe Your Credit Card' technique for this card.
I need a few sympathy cards for my stash so tried to make this one soft and muted and suitable for giving at a most difficult time.

So for my card front, I dipped the edge of an old credit card into some wet Distress Oxide ink and dragged it over my card front till I was satisfied with the coverage.
When that way dry, I rubbed my inked paper with a non-static pad and then white heat embossed the leaves and buds.  Using a shade of purple, I did a loose watercolor onto the leaves to help make them pop.
I placed this lovely sentiment into my Misti and stamped using some black Memento ink and mounted the whole piece on a complimentary colour of cardstock.

Thanks so much for the visit.
Have a great week.

Jumping for Joy

Good Morning.
Simple, happy card today using a technique I showed a few weeks ago that I called
Basically, it is stenciling over a stencil.

I began by masking my card front using Painter's Tape then using some Peeled Paint Distress ink and stenciled the TCW Chicken Wire as the bkg.  I then took some drywall tape and stenciled over that using Peacock Feather.
Using my Misti, I stamped this wonderful image then this fun sentiment.
I clear heat embossed both to help make the black pop.
Lastly, I splattered some diluted Distress ink to look like rain and rubbed more ink along the card edges.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Treasured Memories

Morning.
Today I am playing with one of my favourite flower stamps by Rubbernecker called Flowers in the Breeze.  It is a fun layering stamp and easy to use to create a field of flowers.
The sentiment is a new one to me by Verses called Love Becomes a Memory and today was the day it needed to see some ink.

I began by placing the flower stamp into my Misti, coloured directly onto my stamp with my Zig markers, sprayed with water and stamped onto 120lb watercolor paper.
I repeated that process, using a darker shade of the red for the second stamping.
I then stamped the leaves and stems and let it dry.
I placed the sentiment into my Misti, inked with Archival ink, stamped and embossed with clear just to help it pop.

Birthday Wishes

Morning.

I send more birthday cards then any other type of card, so it's great to have some extras on hand and ready to go.  I love sending them and hopefully they will bring a smile to the person receiving it.
So, let's get to today's card.
I began by creating a piece of marbled paper using alcohol inks.  It is so super easy and fun and you get different results every time.  To see a link to the tutorial go here:

I stamped the large hydrangea flower (one of my favourite stamps) onto the marbled paper using Memento black ink.  I then watercolored it using Brushos mixed with a drop of water.  It is so fun to paint with and you can easily get such great shading using them.
Last, I stamped the sentiment from Verses in the bottom corner using black Memento ink again.
