Fabulous Floral

Welcome
I found this inky background in my stash that I had done using an embossing folder and decided to use it for a paper piecing challenge.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • Like I mentioned about, I used an embossing folder to create the base for my flower.  I opened the eb folder and rubbed some Peacock Feathers Distress ink over it, sprayed with a bit of water and closed the folder and pressed.  It transferred the ink without giving it the embossing which is what I wanted....a flat surface to stamp onto.
  • I placed the inked piece into my Misti, and stamped the flower to one side.
  • I found a scrap piece of inked cs to use for the flower head.  This one was a gel plate printed scrap. I stamped just the flower head onto the scrap and fussy cut it out.
  • I stamped the sentiment to the side and then glued the panel onto some matching blue cardstock, then onto an A2 card base.
  • I pop dot mounted the flower head into place over the stamped image, then added the black gems.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

I have seen this VI stamp used a lot and I love it and it looks wonderful here with the inked up folder to give that lovely pattern without the embossing and the colour is beautiful, and looks great with the paper pieced flower head in matching colours, and beautifully finished with the black sentiment and gems..a gorgeous card Karen. x
