Blue Skies of Spring- The Flower Challenge

Hello and Welcome
A new month means a new theme at

As some of our teams are celebrating Spring's arrival, others are welcoming Fall.
So this month you can choose, just be sure that flowers are the focal point of your card.

We are being sponsored this month by the amazing Bugaboo Stamps with a $12 gift code for our winner , (approx 4 digital stamps). Such beautiful and fun digital stamps to be found there, do pay them a visit if you haven't already! All the design team have been given some of their stamps to use on their cards also.

We also welcome our guest this month Trina P from Phamtasticdesign

So onto my card details.
As mentioned, this month we are creating using some florals from Bugaboo.
I chose one that was a circle, so pretty.
I began by printing it out onto some heavy white cardstock and cut around the dotted border.  I was creating a 'Spring' themed card and when I think of Spring I think of blue skies so I went with that.
After cutting it out, I coloured in the background using blue Copic markers so the flower would pop and be the focal point.
Next, I thought about how I wanted to mount it.  I had this piece sitting in my stash so decided to use it.  I had created it by tracing on the inside of my BoHo Medallion stencil using a Pigma black marker.  I thought it complimented the circular design of the flower and was a great way to use that stencil in a new way.
To add interest, I cut out the center area of the stenciled background, glued the coloured Bugaboo image onto that piece then pop dotted it back in place, matching up the outlined areas.
I did add a bit of colouring to some of the outside edges of the stenciled outline to help pull all the colour together.
I simply mounted all of that onto a piece of heavy white cardstock.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Here is the stencil I used.

Jolly and Happy

First......Happy Thanksgiving Wishes to all my friends in the U.S.   I hope you enjoy a lovely day with family and friends.

Here is today's card inspired by the challenge at Splitcoast this a.m.  The challenge was to create a simple holiday card that could be easily mass produced.  Well this one sure fits the bill.
I began by printed out the digi snowman from Bugaboo and simply coloured him with Copics and cut him out.  I scored three lines on the diagonal then stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches.  I mounted the snowman with pop dots then added the enamel dots on either side of the sentiment.  The finishing touch was to add some Glossy Accents to the carrot nose.

Adding my card to these challenges:

Less is More- JINGLE ALL THE WAY
(inspired by a song- Frosty the Snowman)

Simon Says- ANYTHING GOES

CAS on Sunday- CHILD'S CARD

Simply Create Too- SNOW, SNOW, SNOW

Gingerbread Wishes

Happy Friday.  Another simple Christmas card today using a digi I got from Bugaboo.
I was inspired by the Grab and Go Challenge at Splitcoast this am.....grab something you bought and have been meaning to use.  This little image was just calling out to come to life.

I cut an oval mask using a Spellbinders oval die and sponged with Mowed Lawn Distress ink.  I then stamped over that with a background stamp then removed the mask so I could stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts.  I printed off the gingerbread man, then coloured him with Copic markers and cut it out.
I added some Glossy Accents to the heart cheeks for dimension and sparkle to the candy cane with my Stella Wink pen and pop dotted it over the oval area.
Easy, right?

Adding my card to these challenges:

 4 Crafty Chicks- SPARKLE

The Crafter's Cafe- ANYTHING GOES

Frosty's Day

Morning.  Back to making some more Christmas cards today and playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast.  Isn't this little guy just so cute!  He is a digital stamp from Bugaboo that I won.

I began my simple card by printing off the snowman two times.  Once onto my card front, then again onto another piece of cardstock.  I did that so I could cut out the head after I coloured it with Copics and pop dotted it onto my card front to add dimension.  I added Glossy Accents to the carrot nose and covered him using my Stella wink pen for sparkle.  The sentiment from Mama Elephant is stamped using black Memento ink.

Adding my card to these challenges:

Crafting When We Can- USE YOUR MARKERS

Jellypark Friends- MERRY CHRISTMAS

Stamping Sensation- SIMPLY CHRISTMAS

Thanks for looking,  Have a great week.

Chubby Snowman

Who doesn't love a chubby little snowman.  This guy is just too cute.  I won him from Bugaboo a few months ago and he has been calling to me to make a card.  The hardest part of the cardmaking process for me is layout so seeing this challenge at Splitcoast got me ready to go.
So, I printed him off on my computer, coloured him with Copics then cut him out.  I added some sparkle with my Stella Wink pen.   I stamped the sentiment and looked for a word bubble die but didn't have one to fit so I free hand cut it out.  I added the snowman on top of a piece of leftover DP with a piece of twine and the snowflake and done.

Simon Says Wednesday- ANYTHING GOES

Brown Sugar- ANYTHING GOES

Use Your Stuff- SNOW

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Snowy Wishes

Meet today's card.  Isn't that little snowman just the cutest?
I am playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast this am.  My card is simple with clean lines.
This little guy is a digi that I won from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  I printed him off onto heavy white cardstock then coloured him using Copic markers.  For the hill, I cut a curvy line on my cardstock and embossed a thin silver line to represent the snowy horizon.  The sentiment from PTI was stamped with black Memento ink then the snowman was pop dotted on my card front.

WHEE!

Happy Saturday!  I am working on getting some Christmas cards done, so when I saw the challenge at Splitcoast this morning I was ready to stamp. Today, we are being inspired by the most talented Kittie Caracciolo and her wonderful blog.  Here is her card that I was inspired by called Let it Snow.  Of course, I had to 'CAS' it.

I began by masking off a frame on my card front and sponged Distress ink over that.  When dry, I splashed some water onto the ink.  Since it is water based, it leaves an impression that reminded me of snow.  Using a fine tip black marker, I drew in the frame to add to the focus of the image.
A few weeks ago, I won some cute Digital images from Bugaboo so I printed this cutie off, coloured it with Copics and cut it out so I could pop dot it onto my card front.  The sentiment from Paper Smooches was stamped with black Memento ink.

Also adding my card to these challenges:

Southern Girls- WINTER BLUES

ABC Christmas Challenge-  SOMETHING FESTIVE

Addicted to CAS- CUDDLY (scarf and this image is so cute and cuddly)

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Yeah!

Well, it's the beginning of September and the kiddos are heading back to school today....where did the summer go??  I don't know if the kids are saying 'Yeah!' or if it's the parents feeling ready for them to go back.  I was inspired to create a card for the CAS Challenge at Splitcoast called Team Spirit.  I won a few digi images from Bugaboo so decided to use one on my card.  They are so cute and so easy to colour.

I began by printing of the digital image onto heavy weight cardstock.  I coloured it with Copics then fussy cut the image out.  I then cut a frame using a square Spellbinders die and mounted the kids behind that.  I added a piece of gingham paper as a backing to help make the image pop.  I used a negative square cut piece as my main panel then mounted the frame with pop dots in the center of that.  The 'Hooray' sentiment is from the Penny Black set called Sweet Wishes.

I am also adding my card to these challenges:

Simon Says- ANYTHING GOES

Simply Create Too- SOMETHING NEW (digi images)

Virginia's View- PATTERN PAPER

Brown Sugar- ANYTHING GOES

Thanks so much for coming over and taking a look.  Your most kind comments are so very appreciated!
