Celebration Time

Welcome
It's the weekend and time to play!!
I was looking through my stencils mindlessly, trying to think about what I wanted to create.
I like to have birthday cards on hand, so decided to go with that plan.
I love this fun stencil, just add a few bright colours and you can make a great card.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by pulling out my Stencil Mat and cut a piece of white cardstock.
  • I got out this fun stencil called Round Fragments from A Colorful Life Designs...one of my favs.  I decided to stencil these fun flower shapes in a totally random way, so I masked off around the largest shape and added that into the bottom corner of my white cardstock panel using some Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry and a hint of Rusty Hinge right in the very center.
  • I continued to move the stencil around over my card front, masking and placing some of the flower shapes into the corners and then more into the center area.  I inked the dots from that same  stencil to fill in the open areas.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I stamped the 'Happy' and die cut it out, then stamped the 'Birthday' onto another piece of white cardstock and cut that out.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of matching pink cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
  • I glued the Happy onto the card front, then pop dot mounted the Birthday under that.
  • To finish my card off, I added 3 pink gems just around the sentiment.

Sweater Weather

Welcome
Need some last minute card ideas?  I have a simple card to show you today.
I made some plaid using my Copic Markers and a ruler.  Pretty simple but fun to try.
I love all the plaids we see for winter; so cozy and warm.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock.  Using a red Copic marker, I drew in the lines of my plaid with a ruler.  When I was happy with that, I added a few black lines to add interest....simple so far, right?
  • Next, using this 2 part 'Merry' die from The Stamp Market, I die-cut the letters from the panel and set that aside.
  • I then die-cut the shadow for the die with some black and glued the lettering over the black shadow background die cut.
  • I matched the plaid lettering to the background as best I could and glued it into place.
  • I added some black gems for interest.
  • Finally, I glued it onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto black and then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Be Happy

Hello and Welcome.
Meet today's card.
A simple one using a brayered/stenciled background.

So here's what I did.
As I have mentioned in previous posts, I like to roll off any excess paint from my brayer onto a piece of card when using my Geli Plate.  For this one, I was using some blue and green paint, so I just rolled out the excess and voila; another bkg. piece.  I loved the look of these 2 colours blended together.
Next, using the Beautiful Reasons stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, I masked out the phrase (see below) and just used the word happy to create some background interest using my DOX inks.
I also added some stenciled dots for more interest.
Next, I used my Misti to stamp the leaf outline with black; it is a two-part stamp.  I positioned the solid part of the leaf into my Misti and inked it with more DOX inks, sprayed with water and stamped.  When it was dry, I fussy cut it out then glued it over my inked background.
I mounted the piece onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
