Simple I Love You

Good Morning and Welcome

Hooray...it's a new month and that means new stencil releases from A Colorful Life Designs.
So meet the newly released

It's getting close to Valentine's Day so I decided to make a card with that theme.
Here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Fancy Four Leaf Clover stencil over that and inked with 3 Distress Oxide colours: Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Uncharted Mariner.
  • To help make the flowers pop a bit more, I inked just the flower centers with some Wilted Violet DOX ink.
  • I removed the stencil and die cut a stitched square right from the middle of the stenciled panel and glued that onto a navy blue square piece of cardstock.
  • I glued my card front panel onto another piece of navy blue cardstock and then glued that onto a white 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I used some foam tape to add the smaller die cut piece back into place, matching the pattern.
  • I stamped the sentiment with some more Uncharted Mariner DOX ink and then used more of the foam tape to add it over the middle of my card.

Here is the stencil I used:

Love Flower

Welcome
Meet one of the newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called

This is what I did to create my card.
  • I decided to get out my Gel Plate for this one, so I rubbed my Wilted Violet and my Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink pads directly onto my Gel Plate and blended the colours together smooth using a brayer.
  • Next, I placed the Love Flower stencil over my plate and then took a piece of white cardstock and rubbed that over my plate to create the print.
  • I placed the print into my Misti to stamp the sentiment over the middle and I rubbed some more of the Wilted Violet DOX ink along the edges to add more depth and interest.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then navy and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • To finish my card off, I added 3 black gems around the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:

Have a Colorful Day

Good Morning
I want to introduce you to just one of the new stencils for January from A Colorful Life Designs called:

This is a great stencil that includes 4 different designed hearts and a mask included as well.
The hearts on this stencil are spaced apart which makes inking with different colours so easy.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Heart With Options stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked the first plain heart into the bottom right hand corner with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • Beside that pink heart, I inked up the next one with some Ripe Persimmon DOX ink.
  • I repeated the inking process using all the different heart designs along the top of my card panel with more of the Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.
  • I splattered over the hearts with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I stamped the sentiment with some more of the Peacock Feathers DOX ink, clear heat embossed it, then die cut it out.
  • I glued the dried panel onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I popped up the sentiment with some foam tape and added 3 pearls around the sentiment.

Love is in the Air

Morning
Meet the new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called
I decided to use them to make a non-traditional Valentine card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and laid the Fan Blades stencil over it on my Make Art Station.  I inked it up with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Rocky Path stencil right over it and inked with some Villainous Potion DOX ink.  It added a fun pattern to the fan blades.
  • While that dried, I inked a scrap of white cardstock with some more Peacock Feathers DOX ink and then I die cut the heart with the dots and used a paper punch to get the smaller one.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of blue cardstock and then onto a 4 1/4 inch square card base.
  • I glued the hearts over the center of the fan, then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock and used some foam tape to pop that over the hearts.

Big Love

Hello and Welcome
Meet the new for January
stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
Just in time for making some Valentine cards.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by rubbing some Broken China Distress Oxide ink onto this Embossing Folder and then ran it through my die cutting machine.  It transferred all the ink to the raised area and I was left with a fun, embossed piece for my card front.
  • I took that embossed panel and placed it onto my Make Art Station.
  • I laid the Big Love stencil over that and inked it up with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • Next, I rubbed some Broken China DOX ink onto a white scrap of cardstock, splattered it with my white Posca pen and die cut the heart.
  • I glued the stenciled/embossed panel onto an white A2 sized card base and used some foam tape to pop the heart over the 'O'.

Flower Mosaic

Welcome
Meet today's card using another February release from A Colorful Life Designs called Flower Mosaic.
I combined the stenciling with some white heat embossing as a resist to create my card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I took a piece of white cardstock, placed it into my Misti and stamped this Friendship script stamp over my cardstock with some Versamark ink, then white heat embossed the entire background.
  • I placed the white embossed panel onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Flower Mosaic stencil over that.  I rubbed on some Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink just into the center of my panel, then inked the rest of the panel with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed the stencil and wiped over the embossing to lift the excess ink with a paper towel.
  • Next, I took the panel and die cut the heart from the center.
  • I glued the piece onto some white cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I pop dotted the heart back into place over the large main panel.
  • I took a scrap of black cardstock, stamped the sentiment and white heat embossed that as well.
  • I popped the sentiment right over the middle of the heart.

Lots of Love

Welcome
Meet today's card.
I had fun playing with 2 new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called Heart Wreath and Big Bows.
Super simple card to make.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I laid a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Heart Wreath stencil over my paper.  I inked it up with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I wanted to add some shading to the hearts, so leaving the stencil in place, I inked areas with some Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink.
  • Before I removed the stencil, I splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • I set that aside to dry and then inked up the Big Bows stencil with the same inks as mentioned above and fussy cut that out.
  • I placed the inked wreath panel into my Misti and stamped the sentiment into the center of the wreath.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of pink cardstock, then onto an 4 1/4" square notecard.
  • I pop dotted the bow onto the bottom part of the wreath.
