Snowy Wishes

Hello!

Today, I am playing with a new background stamp I got from Hero Arts and I wanted to create a fun, wintery looking card using it for the holidays.
I began by placing the stamp in my Misti, inked it with Versamark ink, stamped onto my heavy weight cardstock then added white embossing powder and heat set.
Using some Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint Distress inks, I watercolored in the background.
I wanted to add further interest to the stamped image so I used my Penny Black Script stamp, inked it in some Peeled Paint and stamped over the snowflake background.
To add even more of a snowy effect, I edged my card with Versamark and white heat embossed the edges and splattered white acrylic paint too.
I stamped the sentiment from MFT and cut the panel for the front.
The finishing touch was to die-cut a snowflake from SSS, add the green gems and back it all with green sparkle paper.

Winter Greetings

 Morning.

Today, I am playing with a new stamp from Penny Black called Tranquil. Very simple stamping using my MISTI, some markers and a Mini Mister.
I placed my stamp inside my Misti, coloured the image with Memento markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I repeated that process adding darker shades of color until I was happy with it.
I sponged on some Salty Ocean Distress ink over the background then splattered some acrylic white paint over the top.  It looks like stars instead of snowflakes.
I die cut an oval and used it to frame my image.
I stamped the sentiment from the Brush Pines set and done.
Feeling happy to have another holiday card finished.

Light the Way

Hello.

I am still on a mission to get as many cards made for the holidays as possible.
This is a super simple one that could easily be reproduced using a MISTI.

First I had to figure out where the center of my card was and using my Misti, stamped the center star.
Then I knew where to place my other two stars on either side of the top one.
I scored 2 borders using my ScorBug then pop dotted my piece between those scored lines.

Shaving Cream Stenciling

Cheers!
Hope you are having a great weekend.

Today, I am playing with shaving cream.  Not the gel but the foam kind...the cheapest kind you can find.  A bit messy but so, so fun.  I love playing with new techniques and if you have more re-inker then I do, you are all ready to go and can achieve amazing results.

I love the way the colors blend in the background so here is the link if you want to try it out.

I used a stencil from Simon Says, shaving cream and some Distress re-inkers.
I stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday using my Misti and splattered on some white acrylic paint to add to the snowflake theme.  Added the black gems to pull it all together.

'Tis the Season

 Morning.

Well we are enjoying unseasonable warm temperatures here and I am busy making snowy cards.
So meet today's card.  Another one done for the holidays.

I began by placing my evergreen stamp by Magenta into my Misti, coloured with markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I wanted to add a snowy feel to my card so leaving the stamp inside my Misti, I took a Versamark pen and coloured on just portions of the tree branches and heat embossed with white.
I love the effect it achieved.
I watercolored the background using Distress inks then white embossed the edges of my card as well.
The sentiment from PTI was stamped with black Memento ink and clear heat embossed to make it pop.
I splattered on some white acrylic paint over the whole piece as the finishing touch.

Pretty Poinsettias

 Morning.
It's a new month and time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge.

http://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/11/the-flower-challenge-2-theme-occasion.html
So I decided to make my occasion Christmas and used this pretty poinsettia stamp to make another card for the holidays.

I began by placing the Christmas Pride flower from Penny Black into my Misti, inked it with Versamark and stamped.  I then embossed with white embossing powder and a heat tool.  I used some Spun Sugar and Festive Berries Distress ink on my acrylic block, water and a paintbrush to paint in the flower.  I love this flower as it is so easy to watercolor and add shading.
I stamped the sentiment from the Festive Cheer PB set in the bottom corner with black Memento ink.
I sponged more Spun Sugar over the whole card front then white embossed the edges.
It needed some more interest, so using the Script stamp, I randomly stamped with Versamark ink and embossed in white.  Much better.  The finishing touch was to add some black gems to the flower center.

Please come and play along with this fun challenge.

CAS Watercolour- Text Me

 What an exciting day!
I am thrilled to announce that I am the newest team member of the CAS Watercolour Blog!

I think we all love the look of watercolouring which is so easy with the help of all the wonderful stamps we have in our collections.

This month the theme at the CAS Watercolour Blog is:

So onto my card.
I began by getting out my MISTI and placing my PB flower stamp into it.  I simply coloured with Memento markers, sprayed with water and pressed onto my heavy weight cardstock.
I sponged Salty Ocean Distress inks around my image, then using a PB script stamp, I randomly stamped with Versamark ink and white heat embossed.
To add just a bit of extra interest, I stenciled randomly using a piece of drywall tape with more of the ink.
I stamped the sentiment from Rubbernecker with black Memento ink.
