With Love

Hello and Welcome.
Here is a 'grunge' style of card I made for my oldest son as I am missing him during this time of isolation.
I think it's good to add some grunge when creating a guy card.

Here are my card details.
I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock.  I laid the Messy Dots Grid onto my card front. I love this stencil for adding the look of distressing to a simple card.  I added a few drops of Distress Re-inker to a baby wipe and pressed that through my stencil to give a more diluted effect.  I also rubbed some down my card front to add to the distressed look.
While that dried, I fussy cut out a heart and stamped over it then inked the edges with some more green DOX inks.
I placed the dry piece into my Misti and stamped the sentiment using some black Versafine.
I pop dotted the heart over the inky background then mounted it onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

A lovely masculine design Karen - that heart is like an optical illusion - it looks like its behind a cut out on your dotted panel! I had to read your description to realize it's layered on top! love the script sentiment too! xx

What a great idea to send your son a card to show how you are missing him and such wonderful one too with the stencilled dots and the script on the heart, and of course the perfect sentiment. I sent our son a card for his birthday posted nearly three weeks ago and he still hasn't received it in Sydney Australia. Unfortunately his birthday was the 30th May and I am sad that I gave it lots of time to get there and it still hasn't arrived, especially as things are mostly back to normal in Aus. and here there hasn't really been a problem with the post. I am assuming your son doesn't live so far away so there shouldn't be a problem. x
