Let's Get Creative

Good Morning
How fun is this!
I used the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

I enjoyed creating this one and here's what I did.
  • I decided to go with a 'rainbow' theme and began by placing the Nautilus Swirl stencil over the outside edge of my white cardstock. I inked with some Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil, moved it to the side and repeated the process with the same colours.
  • I splattered the panel with my black Posca pen and set it aside to dry.
  • When it was dry, I stamped the sentiment and clear heat embossed it to help make it pop against the colourful background.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of purple the finally onto a A2 sized card base.
  • I added some black gems around the sentiment to finish off my card.

Here is the stencil I used:

That's Awesome!

Welcome
Here's one last card for May using the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
A mixed media card, something I haven't done in awhile.
Lots of stamping on this one over the stenciling.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I took a piece of white cardstock and dragged some Acrylic Gel over the paper randomly, using an old gift card.  I set that aside to dry, it does take awhile.
  • When the Gel was dry, I inked over the whole panel with some Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink.  You can see through the inking the areas where I applied the Gel, giving the card a unique look.
  • Next, I place the Square Swirl stencil over my card panel and inked with some Prize Ribbon DOX ink near the top of the panel.  I repeated that process, inking again along the bottom.
  • I added the stamping over the background to add more interest.
  • I die cut the sentiment from some white cardstock and then the sentiment shadow right from the middle of the card base and glued those together.
  • I glue the finished card front panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then a piece of blue and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment back into place, matching it to the background.

Here is the stencil I used:

Just Wanted to say Hello

Good Morning
Unique and different is how I would describe this newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Swirl Band stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. I turned the stencil around and inked again in the other direction.
  • I lifted the stencil, cleaned it off and placed it down onto another piece of white cardstock.  I inked that up with some Villainous Potion DOX ink.
  • Using my circle dies, I cut pieces from the purple inked cardstock.  One circle from the center and then the ring from another part.
  • I placed the small circle into my Misti to stamp the sentiment.
  • I glued the blue panel onto a piece of purple cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I used some foam tape to add the center circle, matching up the pattern and then added the ring in the same way.

Here is the stencil I used:

Happy Hello

Good Morning
How about a happy card for today.
I'm layering up 2 newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here are the details.
  • I placed the Outline Daisies stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked them up with some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed that stencil and then used the Square Swirl stencil to ink over the flowers with some Picked Raspberry DOX ink.
  • I die cut a small circle and used the negative to ink up the flower centers with more of the Picked Raspberry ink.
  • To add even more interest, I added some dots using the eraser end of a pencil with the same inks as mentioned above.
  • Next, I inked a scrap piece of white cardstock with the Picked Raspberry DOX ink and used that to die cut the sentiment. I die cut the shadow right from the stenciled card front and glued then together.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white, then pink cardstock and then onto a 4 1/4" square white card base.
  • Finally, I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment back into place.

Live Life, Laugh Often, Love Much

Hello
Here is a simple CAS card I made using my Gel Plate and the new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I got my Gel Plate out and pressed my Broken China and my Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks directly onto the plate and blended using my brayer.
  • I placed the Square Swirl stencil onto the plate and rubbed over it with a piece of scrap paper.  I lifted those off, gave a little splatter of water and then rubbed my piece of white cardstock over the plate to pick up the print.
  • When the print was dry, I placed it into my Misti to stamp the words to the side and the sentiment.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of purple cardstock and then onto a white card base. (The card base was a bit smaller then an A2 size to work with the size of the front panel)
  • Finally to finish off my card, I added 3 navy gems under the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:

Spiral Frame

Good Morning
Today's card features the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I've been going through my stash of inky background or failed attempts that I save to use for the future. I found this background in my stash that I had done using the Fur Stencil on my Gel Plate with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I liked the look so decided to start with that.
  • I placed the Spiral Frame stencil over my previously inked background and inked it up with some Tumbled Glass and some Shaded Lilac DOX ink.
  • I move the stencil around and inked again until I was happy with the coverage.
  • Next, I die cut the sentiment with some purple cardstock and then cut again 4 x's with some white cardstock and glued them together stacking them.
  • I glued the stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then purple and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the sentiment to the center of my card and added some purple gems.

Here are the stencils I used:

Swirl Around

Good Morning
It's an exciting day at A Colorful Life Designs as the newest release is up.
I used this lovely new stencil to create my card called
I paired it with an older stencil called Simple Mosaic for a fun rainbow type card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and put the Swirl Around stencil over that.  I inked from top to bottom with these Distress Oxide colours:  Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Simple Mosaic stencil right over the top and inked again using the same colours in the same areas.  It added such great interest to the design.
  • I removed both stencils and used the ink left on my blending brushes to add some colour around the outer edges of stenciling.
  • Next, I placed the card front into my Misti, rubbed it with my anti-static bag before stamping the sentiment.  I clear heat embossed it to help it pop.
  • I covered the sentiment and splattered the panel with my white Posca pen.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of red and then finally, onto an A2 sized card base.  I also added 3 black gems around the sentiment.

Here are the stencils I used:
