Timeless

 Morning.
Here is another card I made using the Stencil Monoprinting Technique I showed you yesterday.
Really easy and fun to do.

I began by rubbing Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint Distress inks onto the back of my Tim Holtz stencil called Clockworks, sprayed with a generous amount of water then pressed it onto my cardstock.  I placed a paper towel over that and rubbed, being sure the ink was distributed around the paper.
I lifted the paper towel but left the stencil in place so I could sponge a hint of the Peeled Paint over the top filling in the white areas.
I cut the panel down and splattered some more paint over that to add some extra depth and interest.
The sentiment is a new one I just got from Impression Obsession.  I stamped that in Memento black ink and then I scored a line down the front using my ScorBug.

Stencil Monoprinting

Morning.

Today, I am officially a part of the TLC (Technique Lovers) Challenge Team at Splitcoast Stampers.
For my first challenge, I am challenging others to make a card using a Stencil Monoprinting technique.
It is super easy and lots of fun and just another great way to stretch the use of your stencils
for a different, more watercoloured look.

I began by inking the back of my Tim Holtz Wildflower stencil with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress ink.
Next, I sprayed with a generous amount of water and pressed the ink onto my cardstock.  I covered it with a dry paper towel and pressed all over the stencil being sure the ink would transfer onto my
paper.  I removed the paper towel and stencil to reveal the background.
While that dried, I die-cut the flowers, also from Tim Holtz and glued them over the monoprint.
The sentiment from Rubbernecker was stamped with black Memento ink in the other corner.
I sponged the edges with more DI when my card was done just to give it a more finished look.

Birthday Wishes

Morning Friends.
Happy Memorial Weekend to all my American friends.

I am so happy to have some time to stamp today.  My time has been so limited lately.
This is a simple, one-layer card with a stenciled background.

I began by placing the stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and laid it onto my cardstock.  Using an applicator tool, I rubbed Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress ink over my stencil being sure
to vary the colour on each of the circles.
Next, I placed my card inside my MISTI and stamped the flowers from Unity with black Memento ink.
Next using more Memento ink, I stamped the sentiment from a new set by Penny Black called

Treasured Friends

Morning.
Long weekends, summer skies...ahhh, I can already feel the sunny warmth.

Today, I was inspired with the challenge at Splitcoast from the Wall Plates online Store.
I am playing with some fun, new releases from Penny Black.

I began by getting out my MISTI.  I find myself using it all the time now and it makes adding layers of colour so easy to do.  So, I placed my tree stamp called Shade Canopy inside my MISTI, coloured it using Memento markers, sprayed with water then stamped.  I then repeated that process adding darker shades of green to my tree until I was happy with the look.

When that was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the new Penny Black set called Treasured Collection with Memento black ink.  I sponged the sky using Tumbled Glass Distress ink keeping the ink around the tree to give it a bit of a glow.

Anything is Possible

Good Morning.

Before I get into my card details, I want to give mention to my wonderful friend Loll Thompson and her talents.  She has made me this fantastic blog header using pictures of my cards.  Isn't it wonderful and so well done.  She is SUPER talented and just a wonderful, kind friend I have been blessed with to have in my life.
Thanks so very much Loll.

Ok, so now onto my card details.
Really trying to venture out of my 'colour comfort zone' with this card.
I have to say, it is fun to experiment though and heck, you will never know unless you try it out right?

This card was inspired by the Tim Holtz flower stamp I just got from Simon Says.  For those of you that know Tim's work (and who in the cardmaking world doesn't) he is into mixed media and darker colours.
So, I wanted to try my hand at some of that today.
I began by stamping my flowers using Colorbox red ink onto my white card stock and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  By doing that, I created a resist for my flowers.
Next, I took my Weathered Wood Distress ink pad and rubbed the pad directly onto my paper until the whole surface was saturated with ink.  I seldom to never use that ink pad so it was a bit scary to see it all greyed down.
I let that dry for a few minutes and gave it a bit of heat with my heat gun to dry the ink, then wiped the excess ink off the flowers using an old rag.  Using the same flower stamp, I sprayed it with water and stamped all over the background.  By using the Distress inks which are water based, I was able to remove some of the ink with my water-sprayed stamp.  It adds kind of a shadow effect, reflection to the background.  To add additional interest, I sprayed the script stamp with water and stamped it the same way along the side.  I love the results.

Last step was to stamp the sentiment from Impression Obsession which I also picked up from Simon Says with Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with white powder.  I am such a sucker for sentiments and this one just spoke to me for this card.
Well I hope that all made sense.  It is a bit different then my clean and white background cards.

Sunny Watercolor

Morning.

Meet today's card.
I am really trying hard to work outside of my favourite blue colour palette so I chose these colours at the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast this morning.

I began by stamping the flower from STAMPlorations on some scrap paper and cut a mask so I could use it to stamp multiple times.  I inked up my stamp with Memento black ink and stamped the first flower in the bottom corner to make that my focal point.  Then I covered it with the mask and stamped the flowers on either side.
I used my Brushos to watercolor my flowers by sprinkling some out into a painter's palette (the plastic ones that you can add and mix paint into) and added water.  I love using them as I find you can get many shades just by varying the amount of water you use.

I fussy cut out the flowers and using pop dots, mounted it onto my white card front.  I stamped the sentiment which is also from STAMPlorations then pierced a border around the edge to add more interest.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Celebrating Friendship

Morning
Meet today's card.  A simple card I made using stamps from Penny Black and a piercing tool.

Penny Black has come out with some fabulous floral images that I love to colour with my markers to get a watercolour look.  This one is called Passionate.
So I began by cutting a circle mask with a Spellbinder die and my trusty Cuttlebug.  Next, I positioned my stamp inside my MISTI, coloured with markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I repeated that process, adding darker shades of the purples.  Leaving the mask in place, I sponged on some Distress inks to define the stamped area.
The sentiment was stamped using Memento black ink and is from the great Sentiment Collection set.
Lastly, I pierced around the outline of the circle.

Thanks so very much for all the times you come to visit.  I do truly appreciate all you comments and emails.  I do try my best to get back to all of you but please know that if I don't get back to you right away, it is due to lack of time.  I am a home daycare provider with a house filled with little people and much activity.  I am often knee deep in crafts, planning, meals or just going through my busy days caring for all my little ones.  It really keeps me hopping!
