Sending Sympathy

I always like to have sympathy cards on hand for that unexpected moment when you need one.  So today, I am playing along with the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast.  To make my card, I masked with an oval then sponged on Distress inks.  When dry, I stamped the trees then added the sentiment and the twine to finish it off.  It is mounted with pop dots onto a plain card front.
Great to have a bit of time off to replenish my card supply.
Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a peek.

Supplies:  stamps; Northwoods, Studio G/ Distress inks/ Memento black/ pop dots/ oval mask

Fabulous Thanks

A time for thanks and a change of pace from Christmas cards today.  This was a quick and easy CAS card to create inspired by the IC Challenge at Splitcoast.  I stamped the green bkg. using a WPlus 9 stamp then stamped over that with the flower and the sentiment.  I added the scoring lines for texture and interest.
Linking my card up to the Keep it Simple Challenge (anything goes).

Hope you are feeling as blessed as I am today!  Thanks for coming by and taking a look; you are appreciated!

Inspired by Splitcoast

I have to say that I get so inspired with all the challenges going on at Splitcoast.  Today's Free for All Challenge really got me going and I created 3 more cards for Christmas.  Here they are:

Love the tilted cards I have been seeing lately.  This one uses stamps from Penny Black and Imaginisce.

This is a monochromatic card I made using a sentiment from Serendipity Stamps.
(Also inspired by a card I saw online and now can't seem to find!)

This cutie is made using stamps from Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn.

Adding my cards to the Keep it Simple Challenge- (anything goes) and the Little Red Wagon- (anything Christmas).

Like I said in an earlier post....I have so loved making Christmas cards this year and really got into it.
Hope your holidays are finding you relaxing, enjoying your family and finding 'snippets' of time to do what you love!

I Believe

Morning.  We have just come through an ice storm and the trees look so beautiful and are full of crystals just glistening in the sunshine.  Sure hope you are all ready for the big day....there are always so many last minute thing to do.
A quick card today using a digital Santa from Birdie Brown.  I have had such fun with these Santas this year.  I masked the oval, sponged on Distress inks then stamped the ho-ho-ho and the sentiment.  Then to finish my card off, I pierced around the oval and added the Santa with pop dots.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a peek especially at such a busy time of the year.

Christmas Gingerbread

Who doesn't love a cute little gingerbread man!  How about a wall of gingerbread?
Today I am playing along with the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast.  This was such a fun card to create using stamps from Penny Black.  I created my card by stamping and masking the gingerbread men to create the wall.  I added some shading with my Copic markers around them.  I stamped another little man, coloured him so I could pop dot it onto my card and then added the banner sentiment.
I wish I had a big tray of these to share with all of you to say thanks for taking the time to stop in and take a peek.

Inspired by Birgit

Today at Splitcoast, we are being inspired by the wonderfully talented card maker Birgit Biggan.  Her gallery at Splitcoast and her blog are filled with jewels.  Here is the card of hers that inspired me:
I just got this new stamp set from Simon Says and couldn't wait to play with it....it reminds me of a cozy warm sweater.  I stamped the sentiment then masked it.  I then stamped the border and added the snowflake and the red pearls for a quick and easy card.
I am adding my card to the following challenges:
Simon Says - bling

Supplies:  stamps; SSS, Paper Smooches/ Memento red ink/ snowflake die; SSS/ red pearls

Glitz and Glitter

Wow...hold onto your socks...another card with no blue on it!!  LOL  Today, I am playing along with the WT Challenge at Splitcoast-tagged.  I have wanted to see how Tin Foil would hold up when I ran it through my Cuttlebug machine to emboss it.  So, I glued the foil onto my cardstock then ran it through my machine.  I then hand cut a tag and added the banner and the punched circle.  The snowflake behind is from Simon Says.  Also adding my card to the challenge at Simon Says- Bling it On.
Thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to pop in and take a peek.  Have a good one...it's almost Friday.

Bubbly Wishes

Washi tape.  I have it but I am never sure quite what to do with it until I saw a card by Laura Bassen which inspired me.  This card will really put you in the mood for a glass of the bubbly.
I cut a tag by hand (since I don't own a die) then added the washi tape to the tag and the front of my card making sure it all lined up.  I stamped the circles at the bottom of my card and added the snowflakes and the sentiment to the tag to finish it all off.
I am adding this to the Addicted to CAS challenge; Snowflakes

Supplies:  stamps; Paper Smooches, circles?/ snowflake die-SSS/ twine/ washi tape/ pop dots

Faux Embossed Snowflakes

I know, I know.....another blue card...so sorry although a few of my followers say keep it coming!
I have wanted to try the 'faux' embossed bkg for awhile now so here we go.
I die cut various snowflakes from the same colour paper as the bkg.  I then glues them all onto the panel then sanded them with an emery board.  Since the paper I used has a white core, hints of the white peek through after sanding.  I then mounted the panel on a crisp white card and added the silver twine with the sweet snowflake button I found.

I am adding my card to a few challenges:
CAS-ual Fridays; Let it Snow
Addicted to CAS; snowflakes
Simon Says; Let it Snow
Thanks so much for taking a peek.

Supplies:  stamps; Paper Smooches/ Scorebug/ snowflakes dies-SSS, Spellbinder/ silver twine/ snowflake button

All Blinged Up Bokeh

I know....funny title for a card.  Today, the CAS challenge at Splitcoast is 'Bling it Up' and since I have been wanting to try and make a bokeh looking card, the time was right.  For those of you that have not heard of 'bokeh' before, it is the effect you get when seeing blurred lights especially on photos.
I just grabbed colours of inks that I thought would work well together and stamped away....fun!
When done, I added the sentiment then I mounted the panel onto my scored card front and added the bling and twine.  I think it makes for a festive and fun card.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Supplies:  stamp; Paper Smooches, various circles?/ twine/ sequins/ various inks

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

So sorry to be showing you another blue Christmas card.....once I start using those blue Distress inks I can't stop.  I guess it is because I associate blue with winter, snow, cold....hopefully not your fingers and toes!
Here is a card I made inspired by Joy Taylor.  I sponged Distress inks over a mask for my bkg. then added the sentiment and snowflakes that I cut from an old gift bag for this easy card.  I love the way it turned out.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
Addicted to CAS; snowflakes
CAS-ual Fridays; Let it Snow
CASology; Snowflake

Joy, Hope, Wonder

It's a snowy, cold and wintery day here in Ontario and I am still in holiday mode making a few last minute cards.  I just can't seem to stop making them but I figure I may as well have a few extras on hand in case I need them.
It's Saturday, so I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast from the Michael Kors site (photo below).  Today's card features products from Penny Black.  I began my card by pressing my blue Distress ink pad onto a non-stick craft sheet then sprayed with water and pulled my paper through the wet ink.  I don't own a tag die, so when dry, I hand cut a tag then white embossed the sentiment on the front.  I then die cut the branches and added it to the top of my tag.  I scored my card front then pop dotted my tag onto that.
I am also adding my card to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge (Let it Snow) and the Simon Says Challenge (Let it Snow)
Hope you are seeing the finish line with all your Christmas preparations and I appreciate that you took the time to come and take a look.  Have a great weekend.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Happy Friday....time is flying by so quickly.  Today, I am playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast which is to make a card based on a Christmas song.  Well in my neck of the woods, we are going to have a white Christmas as we already have snow on the ground and the forecast is calling for lots more.
My card was created by stamping the trees from Memory Box, cutting out with the matching die and then mounting it onto my card front.  I then cut another piece of cardstock with a curve to resemble a snowbank.
I am also adding my card to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge (Let is Snow), the Simon Says Challenge (Let it Snow) and the CAS on Sunday Challenge (Christmas).
Hope your holiday preparations are going well.  Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Let the Party Begin!

What is a Christmas party without a visit from the jolly old fellow?  My card is for the CAS challenge at Splitcoast (holiday party or shopping), the challenge at Little Red Wagon (Santa) and the challenge at Simon Says (make your own bkg.).  A simple card made by masking a circle on the side, sponging on green Distress ink and stamping a large bkg. stamp over that to add some texture.  I printed off Santa (he is a digital from Birdie Brown), then coloured him with Copics and cut him out so I could pop dot him to the side of my card.  The word bubble was also stamped and coloured with Copics.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Icy Blue

Today's card was created for the Inspiration at Splitcoast from the Hollanders Paper and Bookmaking Supplies (inspiration photo below).  Fabulous papers to be inspired by for sure.
The silver snowflakes on my card began as a Christmas gift bag that was torn and no good anymore.  I die cut the flakes and added them to my stamped bkg.  The sentiment is from Penny Black and embossed with silver and the rest is stamped using Distress ink.
I am also adding my card to the Addicted to CAS challenge (snowflakes); Less is More Challenge (metallic plus one other colour); Simon Says Stamp Challenge (make your own bkg.) and Keep it Simple (snow).
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Naughty or Nice?

He's making a list and checking it twice....that's the theme of my card today.  I am playing along with the CAS challenge today at Splitcoast; use red and white and the Simon Says Challenge; anything goes.  My little Santa is a digital from Birdie Brown...such a cute little fellow.  I printed him out onto heavy cardstock then coloured him with Copic markers.  I mounted him onto an embossed bkg. that reminds me of a cozy sweater.
Hope you've been 'nice' this year...wink, wink!

Happy Times

So happy I had time to make a card for the challenge at Splitcoast this am.  I am rushing around trying to get my tree up and a few more things done.  My card is a simple one and similar to the one I did last week.  I sponged Distress inks onto the back panel over a stencil then added to my card front.  I stamped the sentiment then added that with pop dots and the snowflakes which I love.
I am also adding my card to the Simon Says challenge (Anything Goes), Paper Smooches Sparks (anything goes) and Keep it Simple Challenge (snow).  Thanks for looking.

Lined in Gold

Time for another card?  This one is done using stamps from Penny Black for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today (photo below).  The sites they find to be inspired by are amazing.  There is always something to get your creative juices flowing.
I started my card by stamping the poinsettia twice, then after colouring with Copic markers, I cut it out and lined the edges with a gold pen.  I mounted the pieces together then added the pearls to the center.  I mounted all of that onto an embossed bkg.
I am adding my card to the Simon Says challenge.

Let it Snow

Hello Friday!  Time seems to be flying these days.  Still plugging away at getting my Christmas cards done and here is one for today as I am playing along with the Let is Snow challenge at Splitcoast.
The image from Serendipity is stamped with black Memento twice then one of the pieces is cut to make a tag.  After colouring the tag with Copic markers, I pop dotted it over the scene to give a highlighted effect to my card.  Lastly, I stamped the greeting then added some stars for fun.
I am also adding my card to the Simon Says challenge (anything goes) and the tag challenge at Serendipity Stamps.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Holiday Time

Less then one month till Christmas...can't believe it.  I had such a fun time making today's card.  I am using my new bkg. stamp from Penny Black called Jolly Chant stamped in red Memento ink.  I then cut a snowflake from the center of my card and removed it.  Next I cut 4 more of the snowflake shapes from white cardstock, glued them all together adding the stamped one on the top.   I glued that back into the area I had cut from the front of my card to give a raised snowflake.  I hope you can see the cool effect it created on the front of my card.  I am adding my card to the Simon Says challenge (anything goes).
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

OLW168- Sparkle and Shine

Welcome to another OLW Challenge- One Layer Wednesday.
This week the challenge is:

Sparkle and Shine- create a card with something shiny or a bit of bling on it.

I started creating my card by first applying 2 masks to the bottom of my card.  I then laid a stencil over my cardstock and sponged on Distress inks.  I removed the masks and had a nice white crisp area to stamp my sentiment and add some more snowflake onto.  I added some lovely icy looking crystals to the center of my snowflakes to give it a bit of bling.

OLW168 Rules

1.  Create a one layer card.  This is defined as a single layer of cardstock folded in half.  No other
     layers allowed.

2.  Create a card of your choice adding some sparkle or bling.  Add a link to your card.  Remember to
keep embellishments to a minimum and no ADDITIONAL layers of cardstock.

3.  Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button below.  If you link to your blog, please link to
specific post and not your blog main page.

4.  Have Fun!  Looking forward to seeing what you create.

Ombre Snowflake

Here is a card I made for the Getting Ready for Christmas Challenge at Splitcoast.  I was very pleased with how this card turned out with it's ombre effect.  I began by inking up a piece of cardstock with Distress inks, cut the piece on an angle then cut that into three pieces.  I created the snowflake by die cutting the snowflake 4 times then glueing them together to give the snowflake a chipboard appearance.
It has a real presence on the card.
I am adding this card to the Cas on Sunday challenge (winter theme).
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Non-Traditional Christmas

No red....no green....no gold.  Just blues with a hint of purple on this icy feeling card I made to show you today.  It was a simple layout that I cased from the challenge at Splitcoast.  I created the main panel by pressing my Distress ink pads onto my non-stick craft sheet, spraying with water then running my paper through it to pick up the colours and help them blend together.  I added the popped up sentiment and the snowflakes for a non-traditional looking card.
I am linking this card up with the CAS on Sunday challenge (winter theme).
Hope you are making progress with your Christmas cards and thanks for taking a peek.
