Atomic Teardrops

Welcome
Today's card was a fun one to create.
It's the last day of July and I wanted to show you one more new releases stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Mid Century Atomic Teardrops stencil over a piece of white cardstock and then inked it up with these Distress Oxide colours:  Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and some Uncharted Mariner.
  • I moved the stencil over and filled in some of the white areas with the same colours mentioned above.
  • I removed the stencil and set aside to let the ink dry.
  • I die cut the birthday sentiment with a piece of dark blue cardstock and then cut it 3 more times with some white cardstock.  I glued them all together, stacking them on top of each other to make a raised sentiment.
  • I glued the stenciled card front onto another piece of the dark blue cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the sentiment over the middle of the card front on an angle and finally, added 3 silver gems to give more interest around the sentiment.

Close Your Eyes and Make a Wish

Welcome
Today's card features the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
This is a small stencil that I decided to use to make a mirror image on my card.
I am also hosting this weeks TLC Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers using this technique if you want to come and play along.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • After I cut a piece of white cardstock, I marked the center point, then I placed it onto my Make Art Station and put the Mid Century Arcs stencil over that at the center point.
  • I inked it up with some Cracked Pistachio and some Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink.
  • I cleaned off the stencil, turned it over and put it onto the opposite side and inked again with the same colours to create a 'mirror image'.
  • Next, I die cut the sentiment with some navy cardstock and also a thin strip that covers the center line.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white, then navy cardstock, and finally onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the navy strip over the middle area and added the sentiment.
  • I added 3 silver gems for interest around the sentiment.

Mid Century Tower

Welcome
Here's a simple card for you today featuring the new for July stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by masking the center part of my white cardstock on either side with some scrap paper, then placed the Mid Century Tower stencil over that and inked with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.  (I masked off so I could have 3 distinctive bands of colour.)
  • I lifted the paper masks off and moved them to cover the middle and then placed the stencil back down, matching it up into place.  I inked with some Ripe Persimmon DOX ink.
  • I removed the stencil and splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • I found some inky castoffs in my scraps that had the same colours as the background and I used them to die cut the flowers.
  • I stamped the sentiment with more of the Ripe Persimmon DOX ink and then die cut it out.
  • I wanted the flowers too show up against the stenciled background, so I cut a piece of clear vellum and glued that over the left corner of my card front and then glued the flowers over that.
  • I glued the stenciled card front panel onto a piece of pink cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • Finally, I used some foam tape to add the sentiment into the corner.

Birthday Fun

Good Morning
Meet another one of the new releases for July, a mid-month release from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock, then placed the Over the Belt stencil onto that and inked with some Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed the stencil, wiped it clean and then placed it back down but facing in the other direction.  I inked again with some Salty Ocean DOX ink.
  • While that dried, I die cut the large birthday sentiment with some white and purple cardstock and glued them together.  I did offset them a bit to help make the sentiment stand out more against the background.
  • I glue my stenciled card front onto another piece of purple cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I glued the sentiment over the middle of my card front and finally, added 3 silver gems.

You Brighten My World

Welcome
Today, I'm sending this all out to you.  I so appreciate your visits and kind comments!
I often feel badly that I don't have more time to come and visit all of you but with 5 little daycare kiddos and working 10 hr days, my time is so limited.

Anyways, I want you to meet the new for July stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called;

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station, put the Off Road stencil over that and inked it up with some Peacock Feather and some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink.
  • I splattered the stenciling with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I put another piece of white cardstock down and placed an older stencil called Corner Rays over one side of my cardstock and then inked it up with some Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon and some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the stencil over onto the other side, matching up the pattern and inked again with the same colours.
  • I placed that into my Misti to stamp the sentiment, then I glued that onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • The first stenciled piece was now dry, so I cut it along one of the curved edges and used some foam tape to pop it over the sunrise.

Bright and Happy Birthday

Welcome

For today's card, I went with a bit of a 'rainbow' theme with the colours I added over this new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and put the Mid Century Jacks and Balls stencil over that.
  • Starting at the top corner and moving my way down, these are the colours I used to blend together:  Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry and some Peacock Feathers.
  • After I had inked the whole panel, I decided to add a Stitched border to give more interest to my card.
  • I die cut the sentiment with some white cardstock 4 times and glued 3 of them together.  I inked the 4th one with the same colours I had used on the background mentioned above and glued that onto the top of the stack.
  • I glued the card front onto a piece of navy cardstock, then added the sentiment across the front.

Look Who's Having a Birthday!

Welcome
Today's card features the new for July stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called
This is a fun, 2 part stencil that can be used to create some very cool retro looking cards.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I put a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and placed Mid Century Mod Pods stencil #1 over that and inked with some Salty Ocean and a hint of Uncharted Mariners Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted that stencil off and put Stencil #2 into place, matching up where the pattern should go.  I inked that up with some Cracked Pistachio and a hint of Rustic Wilderness DOX ink.
  • Next, I stamped the Marquee onto another piece of white cardstock with more of the Salty Ocean Distress ink and fussy cut it out.  I used Copic markers in the same green and blue colour as the background to colour in parts of the marquee.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of dark green cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the marquee in the middle of the card front.

Congrats to You!

Welcome
Today, I'm playing with another new fun released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station, then I placed the Mid Century Pyramids stencil over that and inked with these Distress Oxide ink colours:  Salty Ocean, Ripe Persimmon and Lumberjack Plaid.
  • I lifted the stencil, cleaned it off and then added a few more of the circles to some of the open areas.
  • Using my white Posca pen, I added white dots to some of the circles and set aside to dry.
  • Next, I looked through my stash to find some cardstock scraps that were the same colours as the background and then I punched out circles from that.  I also punched out some black circles as well.
  • I glued some of the circles onto a small piece of white cardstock, then cut some of the circles to create the fun design.
  • I placed the stenciled card front into my Misti to stamp the sentiment and then glued it onto a piece of black cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop up the square with the punched out circles on it.

  • I glued the largest square onto a 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I glued the smaller light blue stenciled square onto a piece of white cardstock, turned the pattern in the opposite direction and used some foam tape to adhere it.
  • I stamped the sentiment with more of the Uncharted Mariners DOX inks and die cut it out.  I used more foam tape to pop it over the middle of the smaller panel.
