Happy Christmas
I have been making a few Christmas cards early this year...surprising for me as I usually wait till the last minute! This is a card I am adding to the Stitching & Sewing Challenge at Moxie Fab. Using up some of my stray paper strips on this card. Glued them down after cutting them into different lengths, stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches and added some 'faux' stitching and the twine with the bells.
Thanks so much for coming by for a visit.

Collaged Ferns
Here is a card I made for the CAS challenge today at Splitcoast; create a collage. This was a quick and simple card to create. I masked the square area, rubbed my Distress ink pads directly across the masked area then stamped the ferns and added water and paint splatters.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Joyful Days
Welcome to the weekend and the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast today from the Etsy store called Agate Christina. Lovely jewellery for sale there. I was inspired by the earrings below.
Simple card...I masked the square, sponged on Distress inks over a Mr. Huey mask, then stamped the flowers and the sentiment. I added the pearls at the bottom corner to balance it all out.

Rescued
Happy Friday! Here is a card I called 'Rescued' as it started off as a one layer that I smudged ink onto so I cut the sponged panel and started over. I added the black line with my markers, added the scoring and the embossing to the card front and then moounted the sponged panel on top of that. The stamp is one of my favourites from Penny Black called Hillflowers. The sponging is done with....you guess it....Distress inks.

Oh Baby
Here is a card I made for a challenge using shades of pink and since I need a baby card it all came together quickly. Gotta love when what you picture in your head comes out looking just the same on paper.
The sweet baby image is from MelonHeadz and is a digi that I printed, coloured and cut out. I mounted it onto an oval against the polka dots for fun....love polka dots. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

OLW111- Smile
Welcome to another week for me to be hosting the OLW (One Layer Wednesday). This week I am challenging you:
create a card that makes you 'SMILE'
With the Fall fading and winter quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good time to create a card that feels happy and makes you smile. This stamp from Penny Black is so easy to work with and it was a breeze to paper piece her dress and flower with the happy orange polka dots. Added the scoring line under to ground her.
( I must apologize as I feel like I cheated a bit by paper piecing her dress....had made this card, had good intentions of making another and ran out of time!)
OLW111 Rules
1. Create a one-layer card. That is defined as a single layer of card stock folded in half. No other layers allowed!
2. Make a card that makes you 'SMILE' in some way. Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum and NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of card stock.
3. Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button underneath. If you link to your blog, please link to the specific post, not your blog’s main page.
4. HAVE FUN! I am looking forward in seeing what you create!

Greetings
I just got this new stamp set from Paper Smooches and have been dying to play with it. I had time to play along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast; to use newspaper or dictionary script on your card and the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays; over the edge. I had a piece of paper that I had inked with Distress inks and my acrylic block sitting on my desk, so I stamped over it with the newspaper text from Hero Arts and then added the sentiment in black. The snowflake is cut with a Spellbinders die and sponged while still in the die. The embossed bkg. is a Sizzix folder.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

PB-Inspired by Pinterest
Happy Friday!! Today, over at the Penny Black blog, the designers are taking their inspiration from Pinterest. Here is the photo that inpired me:
Here is what I did to create my card. First, I created the background by inking my acrylic block with Distress inks…just rubbed yellow, orange and a bit of green and pink onto the block, sprayed with water and stamped. When it was dry, I stamped over using the All You Need stamp in orange and green. I then stamped the sentiment from Gratitude Product and mounted that piece with the Mix and Match paper and then onto an embossed background using a Sizzix folder.”
Hope you are looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend.

Harvest
Here is a card I made for two challenges at Splitcoast. The CAS challenge was a theme, "Harvest" and the TLC challenge was to use the acrylic block technique. When I hear harvest time I think of all the warm, rich colours of Autumn. So here is what I did. I took my acrylic block, the one that you put your unmounted stamps onto for stamping and inked it up with Distress inks. I sprayed with water then stamped onto my card base twice. Since Distress inks are water soluble, the colours blend together so nicely. When it was dry, I stamped my Hillflowers from Penny Black and the sentiment from Paper Smooches.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Celebrate Your Birthday
This month is filled with birthdays for family and friends so I have been busy creating cards for that and forgot to post this one last week. I made this one by colouring the Circular Design from Penny Black with Memento markers and spraying with water before stamping over a masked area. I added the sentiment from Paper Smooches and the scored line. I think it will make a good masculine card.
Thanks so much for coming by today. Hope you have a great week.

Non-Traditional Christmas
I'm back and playing with my new stamp from Penny Black called Winter Berries. It was a quick and easy card to make as I am playing along with the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast today and I don't have a lot of time.
I stamped the branches first in the green then overstamped with the light blue....so easy. The sentiment is from the new Christmas Cheer set.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Congrats My Son
Here is my card for the today. I am playing along with the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast and here is what inspired me from Pier 1:
I created this card for my son who got a big promotion at his job this past week so kept it very masculine. I used the Gunge Me set from PTI and the Typically Teen set from The Craft's Meow; both great sets for creating 'manly' cards.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look today. Hope you enjoy a great weekend.

Let it SNOW
Happy Friday. Can't believe I just typed 'Let it SNOW'! I really don't want it to snow....our winter is so long here. But, I did want to play with my new Mimi stamp so here is my card.
Today, at the Penny Black blog, the designers are being inspired by Pinterest. Wow...you should see all the wonderfully inspiration. You can see the photo that inspired me there.
I stamped Polar Mimi and cut the main panel keeping the image intact. I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the bkg and after colouring my image with Copics, paper piecing Mimi's hat, I added the sentiment.

Swiped
Today I am showing you a super quick and easy card I made and that anyone could do. There is no sponging just swiping. Here is what I did. I masked a square onto my card front and took my Distress inks and swiped them across the front of my card. I used 3 colours and when I was done I sprayed water onto the inked area. I inked up my leaf stamp from Penny Black, stamped that keeping the mask in place and then removed the mask and stamped the sentiment.
I am adding this card to 2 challenges today. One at is CAS-ual Fridays; to use pink and CASology ; to use a leaf on your card. Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Christmas Plaid
I know it is early for Christmas cards but I wanted to play with my new stamps from Penny Black and the Cas challenge at Splitcoast this week was to use plaid, so here you go. I have been playing with my Distress inks so much lately and wanted to try the water-stamping technique. So, here is what I did to create the main panel. I inked a plain white piece of cardstock with 3 shades of Distress inks. When dry, I took my stamp and sprayed it with water and stamped it onto the panel. Since the Distress inks are waterbased, you get a faint water mark on your project. Next, I overstamped and embossed with white, cut the panel with my Spellbinders die and mounted it onto a piece of plaid from the new Madison paper pad.
So glad you came by to take a look today.

Here is a card I made while playing with my Distress inks again. Created the bkg. by first sponging the ink onto white cardstock then overstamping with the honeycomb from Paper Smooches. The cake is so fun; from Studio G. Coloured and cut it out....pop dotted (of course) for interest.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Beauty of Autumn
Here is another card I made for World Card Making Day. I created the yellow bkg. by first rubbing Distress ink onto my white cardstock. Next I overstamped with the Houndstooth bkg. from Hero Arts, added some paint specks and then stamped the wheat. I mounted it onto white to keep it all very clean looking. The scoring lines on the side were added and the sentiment from Inkadinkadoo.

World Card Making Day
Happy World Card Making Day!
What a great day to celebrate creating, sharing, inspiring all around the world!! I hope that you get a chance to play along with some of the many challenges and events going on today and all weekend.
I want to share 2 cards that I have created so far.
Today Penny Black is teaming up with Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine to give us some wonderful sketches to create with for WCMD and fantastic prizes too. Here is my card based on one of those sketches.
I stamped the flowers from Petal Party, cut them out and coloured using Copics. The circle is done by sponging with Distress Inks then overstamping with Circular Design and adding water.
The next card is made by masking the edges then using the Circular Design again from Penny Black, overstamping with leaves from Impression Obsession and the sentiment is from PTI.
Thanks so much for popping by today. Sure hope you have some 'Snippets' today to do something that you love.

Autumn Blessings
Well, we are half-way through the week already and I did not get a chance to post this card last week that I had added to a few challenges so here it is.
The flowers are from Penny Black; stamped, then coloured with Copics and added Glossy Accents to the flower heads. I have had some washi tape in my stash for so long and decided to add it to the bottom for interest. Rounded corners and that's it.
Wishing you many Autumn Blessings. Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
