Little Wonder

Hello and Welcome
Today, I needed a baby card for a little girl and I thought this bubble background would work perfectly for that.
I made this bubble background a few weeks ago and it was the perfect backdrop for this sweet little digital image from MelonHeadz.

So here is what I did to create my card.

  • I began with a piece of heavy white cardstock.  I filled up an old coffee cup with water and added some Dawn Dish soap to the water and then some Picked Raspberry Distress Reinkers and mixed well.  Using a straw, I blew bubbles with the mixture and pressed my cardstock panel over the bubbles until it was covered.  TIP: blow the bubbles past the top of the cup so you don't get the impression of the top of the cup on your panel.
  • I set the panel aside to dry completely.
  • While that dried, I printed this cute little digital bunny image from the Melonheadz site, then fussy cut it out.
  • Using my Copic markers, I coloured in the image with some pinks and purples to match the bubbles in the bkg.
  • I placed the dried bubble bkg. into my Misti and stamped the sentiment along the bottom using my Versafine Clair ink, then clear heat embossed it.
  • I pop dot mounted the bunny over the sentiment, then using a black Signo marker, I drew in the extended whiskers on the bunny.
  • To add interest, I added some Glossy Accents to the bunny's ears, nose and bow which you really can't see in the photo but it did add a lot of interest and some texture.
  • I mounted the panel onto a heavy white card base.

Here is what the panel looked like when I added the bubbles.  I like to make a few at a time.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.

Baby Boy

Good Morning
Meet today's card.
A very simple one using a digital image from MelonHeadz….isn't it just the cutest?

So here's what I did to create my card.
I began by printing off the image onto some heavy white card stock.  I cut the piece down to the size I wanted then using my Copic markers, I coloured it in.
I mounted the coloured piece onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a piece that I die cut using the Swatches die from Spellbinder.
I took another piece of white cardstock and placed it into my Misti and then stamped the plaid with some Peacock Feathers Distress ink.  I wanted the bkg to match the baby's bib, so using a purple Copic marker, I drew in some lines using a ruler.
I pop dotted the image onto the plaid panel, added 3 buttons under the image and then mounted that all onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Baby Boy

 Happy Saturday!

Today's card is a super simple one for a new baby boy.
One of my favourite digital images to use for a baby card are the ones from Melonheadz...so cute.

I began by printing the image out twice onto my heavy cardstock, sprayed with Krylon sealer and set aside to dry.  By sealing the paper, I was able to easily colour the baby image with Copic markers and have no bleeding.  I fussy cut out the baby then pop dotted it over the main printed image for interest.
I found a piece of blue gingham in my stash and glued that onto my card front.
Pop dotted the main printed panel over that.

Baby's First

 Morning.
Here is a card I made for a special little girl celebrating her first birthday.
I love these sweet and fun free digis from MelonHeadz.

I began by printing off the little girl image, colored it with Copic markers then fussy cut it out.

TIPLightly spray your printed digital with Krylon Workable Fixative to prevent bleeding if you are painting your image or coloring...it works great!!!

I scratched my head trying to think about what kind of background to place it over,  so I got out my stencils hoping to be inspired.  I thought this circle one from Simon Says was fun so I stenciled just a small portion of the card front using Spun Sugar Distress inks.  It made the perfect backdrop to pop dot the image onto.  I stamped the birthday sentiment from Penny Black just under the stenciling, added a black rhinestone to the headband and done.

Oh Boy!

Happy Saturday!
I love Saturdays and being inspired by the IC Challenge at Splitcoast.  This morning the inspiration comes from an Etsy site called Bohemian Findings.  The store is filled with sweet little charms.
I needed a baby card and saw this cute little charm:

I felt like doing some watercoloring, so I began making my card front by painting bands of blue using my watercolor paints.  I tried to blend the bands together using water then when dry, cut the panel into 2 pieces.  I mounted the panels on my card front then stamped the sentiment with black Memento ink.
This adorable baby image is a digi from Melonheadz.  I printed it off onto heavy weight cs then coloured it with Copics and fussy cut it out.  I then mounted it over the blue panel using pop dots.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

As You Like It- BRIGHTS or PASTELS?
(I love brights; it immediately draws you eye in and gets your
attention.  Blue is also my fav colour and I find it the easiest
colour to work with when making cards)

Oh Boy, It's a Girl!

Babies....ahhh....they smell so good, so fresh.  Nothing like the smell of a new baby.
I needed a baby card and the challenge at Splitcoast from the Barnes and Noble site was just the ticket. (book pictured below)

I printed this adorable free image from the MelonHeadz site twice so I could cut it up and pop dot it for interest.  I love her cute and fun images.
Have a great weekend and thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

Oh Baby

Here is a card I made for a challenge using shades of pink and since I need a baby card it all came together quickly.  Gotta love when what you picture in your head comes out looking just the same on paper.
The sweet baby image is from MelonHeadz and is a digi that I printed, coloured and cut out.  I mounted it onto an oval against the polka dots for fun....love polka dots.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Easter Blooms

Just finishing a last Easter card for a very special friend.  I also wanted to play along with the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays: to created a card showing something you would find in an Easter basket.  When I was little, it was tradition to get some new socks or a new Easter bonnet but as an adult, my mom would give me some kind of a flower in an Easter basket.
Once again, I printed off the free digi from Melonheadz, coloured it with Copics and cut it out...pop dotted the flower then the flower head again for interest.  I hope she likes this bright and sunny card.

Hugs, Please

I can't believe it.....I have been blogging for one month already.  I soooo appreciate all the kindness and support I have received from all of you that visit to see what I have been doing with my snippets of time...thanks so very much!!  I feel like I have been given many 'cyber' hugs.
Today I made a card to play along in a challenge at SCS.  The sentiment and the bunny are digis found here at MelonHeadz Illustrating. I printed them out and cut the bunny and carrot out, coloured using Copics and pop dotted them for interest.  I am also including this card in the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays.
Hope you enjoy a wonderful day.

Hey Baby

This week's challenge at Cas-ual Fridays is to create a baby card and since I need to make one, it was the perfect opportunity.  I saw these adorable images at MelonHeadz Illustrating and wanted to do something with it.  She just makes the cutest and fun images!!  I printed the babies on heavy white cs and then cut them apart.  I coloured the first one using Copic markers and then I cut it out then coloured just the head of the second one so I could pop-dot it onto the image.  The word 'baby' is a stamp from Studio G., which I randomly stamped in the corner.  The whole baby is then also pop dotted for interest.
Thanks for coming by to take a look.
