Good Morning.  Doesn't everyone need a shot of 'HAPPY' for a Friday!  Well here is a card I created for a few challenges:

Simple, easy card filled with happy.  I stamped the circles from The Alley Way Stamps and coloured them in with Copic markers.  I then drew in some black lines and added the sentiment from Paper Smooches.

OLW155- Silhouettes

Welcome to another week for the OLW Challenge (One Layer Wednesdays).
This week the challenge is:
Silhouettes- use a silhouette on your one layer card

I love using silhouettes for my one layer cards.  I love the look of these boys riding their bikes (Flonz Stamps) being little daredevils....reminds me of my boys and all the summer fun they had when they were younger.  I stamped the bottom grunge part with a stamp from WPlus in green Memento ink (pear tart).  I then added the bikers in black.

If you don't own a silhouette stamp, stamp an outline design and colour it in with a black marker.
Be creative and I hope you can play along with us this week.  Here are all the deets:

OLW155 Rules

1.  Create a one layer card.  This is defined as a single layer of cardstock folded in half.  No other
     layers allowed.

2.  Create a card that has a silhouette on it.  Add a link to your card.  Remember to
keep embellishments to a minimum and NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of cardstock.

3.  Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button below.  If you link to your blog, please link to
the specific post, not your blogs main page.

4.  Have Fun!!  I am looking forward to seeing what you create.

Going to the Beach

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  I created this card using stamps from Gina K for three challenges:
Splitcoast-CAS challenge; Road Trip
Splitcoast-TLC challenge; stamp on designer paper
Addicted to CAS challenge; Holiday

An easy one to create by stamping right onto a leftover designer paper with black Memento ink.  The white panel was then added to the white base with pop dots to keep it all clean and simple.
Hope you get a chance to try one of the challenge.
See you soon and stay turned for Wed. as I am hosting the next OLW.

Butterflies

I made this card the other day with the butterfly mask  I hand cut for my green card. In case you mised it, I don't own a butterfly die, so I cut my own mask from a piece of scrap paper so I could sponge over it with ink to get the butterfly shape.   I laid the butterfly on and sponged over a bkg. mask from The Crafter's Workshop in blue that was on top of that.  Leaving the butterfly mask in place, I stamped the flowers in black Memento and added the sentiment all from Penny Black.
Thanks for looking and have a great week.

Let's Celebrate

It's Sunday and I am playing along with the Featured Stamper today at Splitcoast.  I got out my Penny Black stamps to create this birthday card for a friend.  I stamped the words for the bkg. then stamped the balloons onto DP and cut them out.  I mounted them with pop dots then added Glossy Accents to give them a shiny balloon effect.
The weekend seemed to fly by...just never enough time to do it all.
Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!

Wishes for Your Birthday

Happy Saturday.  Here is a card I made for the Sat. Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast. (inspiration piece pictured below)  I wanted to create a textured look on my card so I punched circles to create a mask with a punch.  I stamped over the circle using a bkg. stamp from Kaiser, I love the woven look it gives.  I added the sentiment but then for interest, I cut the sentiment and pop dotted it.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Masked Butterfly

Here is Monday's clean and simple card as I am off this week and have time to play along with the CAS Challenge at Splitcoast.  I don't own a butterfly die so I hand-cut a mask to use for my card.  I stamped the bkg. from WPlus9 sponged on some green Memento ink.  I then added the flowers from Purple Onion and the sentiment (love) for a quick and easy card.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Inked Leftovers

I had a piece of leftover cardstock that I had inked with Distress inks laying on my desk so that was my starting point for today's card.  I am playing along with a couple challenges:  Splitcoast FS, The Birthday Card Sketch challenge at Moxie Fab and the Addicted to CAS Summer challenge.
One of the first set of flowers I ever bought when I started stamping was this set from Purple Onion...love their simplicity.   So, I got them out and stamped the panel then cut it into squares and mounted them on the side of my card using pop dots.
The sentiment is from Penny Black and the scoring lines are done with my Scor-bug.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Lookout Point

My card for today comes to life after playing with Distress inks again.  I am playing along with a few challenges:  Splitcoast Inspiration challenge (pillow shown below), Addicted to CAS:summer and the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Simple card really.  The main panel was created by apply Distress inks onto my non-stick craft sheet, adding water and then running my paper through the wet ink.  I splashed some extra water on too for a more beachy feel.  When that was dry, I stamped the seagull and the brush with black Memento ink.  The side panel was done pretty much the same using Distress inks and water.  I think it would make a great masculine birthday card.
Hope you have a great weekend and thanks so very much for coming and taking a look.

Hello Teacher

A super simple one today.  It's Friday and I am playing along with the Free for All challenge at Splitcoast.  This sweet little image reminds me of a little girl going to school for the first day, acting shy but with a heart in hand to give to her new teacher.  I love the vintage feel of her little dress and ankle socks.
I am going to be on holidays for the next two weeks; looking forward to some R & R.
Thanks again so very much for coming by and taking a look.

Birthday in Blue

What are two of my favourite things....blue and playing with my Distress inks.  That is how I came up with this card.  I started by covering my non-stick craft sheet with Distress ink in blues and sprayed with water so I could drag my cardstock through the wet ink.  When it was dry, I stamped the flowers and cut them out and added some white details with my Signo pen.  For the bkg. I placed drywall tape onto my paper then using the blue wet ink, painted it over the tape.
I am putting my cards in a few challenges today.  Splitcoast; backgrounds, Addicted to CAS; summer and The Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Supplies:  stamps; Stampin Up/ Distress inks/ Bl. Memento/ pop dots/ drywall tape

Write on Your Heart

Hi and I am back playing along with a few challenges.  Addicted to CAS- summer challenge; FS at Splitcoast and the Simon Says- Anything Goes Challenge.
I wanted a simple backdrop for my Penny Black butterfly so I told my yellow Distress ink pad (Squeezed Lemonade) and just rubbed it down the front of my cardstock.  I rubbed the ink pad onto my acrylic block then added water to it so I could use it as paint to splatter my card front.  I coloured the butterfly with Copics then cut it out and mounted it with pop dots and added the sentiment.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look....I truly appreciate it!

Bring it On!

I am having a blast playing with my Distress stains and my new silhouette stamps so I made another card for a few challenges:  The National Geographic Art Store at Splitcoast; the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says; the Moxie Fab sketch challenge; The Addicted to CAS summer challenge and the Seize the Birthday Challenge...PHEW!
I created my card by again, splattering my card with my Distress stain.  You get the tip saturated with stain then splat it onto your card....super easy.  When that was dry, I stamped the rest of the background with Neon green ink using stamps from PTI.  Lastly, I stamped the greeting and mounted the skateboarder to the side.
Thanks for looking.

Inspired by Canvas Art

The National Geographic Art Store is just filled with such fabulous and inspiring prints.  Today at Splitcoast, that was our inspiration site.  You can see the print that inspired me below.
This is also the first chance I have had to make a card for the Birthday Sketch challenge at Moxie Fab; sketch below. (I always send a thanks for my birthday gifts) and I am adding it to the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says as well.
The layout of my card was inspired by Heather Telford, her work is wonderful.  I stamped the leaf from Hero Arts then embossed it in white.  I rubbed Distress ink (Peeled Paint) onto my card then mounted the two smaller squares with pop dots.  I placed that panel on my card between 2 scored lines.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  I sure hope you have a great weekend...we get a long one here in Ontario, Canada.

Have an AWESOME Birthday!

Happy Friday my friends.  I am posting a card for a few challenges today;  the F4A challenge at Splitcoast; Seize the Birthday Challenge, Simon Says- Anything Goes and the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
I just got a new mask from The Crafter's Workshop and created the bkg for my card by sponging on Distress inks in yellow and orange (Squeezed Lemonade/ Ripe Persimmons).  The chevrons reminded me of arrows so I stamped the front bicycle wheel just under that so it looks as though the arrow is pointing at the wheel in the air.  I sponged on some white Distress Paint (Picket Fence) over a piece of drywall tape for interest.  I added scoring lines with my Scorbug on either side.
My card was inspired by Dini Kowal...thanks Dini!

Thanks so much for all your kind comments and email....so very appreciated!!

Caught a Bug??

This week is flying by....the whole summer for that matter....where did July go??  I am adding my card to the challenge today at Splitcoast - ways to use it.  This little 'bug' is a part of a set from The Alley Way Stamps.
I began by stamping the bottles across the bottom of my card then I masked around one of them so I could stamp that little guy inside of the bottle.  I coloured him and the lids using Copics then I added Glossy Accents to his nose for shine.
We are heading into a long weekend here in Ontario, Canada...looking forward to it!
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
