The October Sky

Welcome October
It's a new month and an exciting time for all the new releases at A Colorful Life Designs.
Meet the new
These Mask sets have a number of different sized masks and stencils to use for cards or scrapbook pages.

There is nothing like the colours of a Fall morning sky, so here's what I did to create my Fall inspired card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and then placed one of the Marvelous Masks Arch stencils over my cardstock.
  • Beginning at the top of the arch, I inked it up with some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, I inked with some Ripe Persimmon and then some Picked Raspberry DOX ink, blending them all together until the whole stencil was inked.
  • I lifted the stencil off and placed the panel into my Misti to stamp the flowers and the sentiment in the top corner.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of pink cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I added 3 black gems around the sentiment to finish my card off.

Here are the mask sets:

When You Wish Upon a Star

Good Morning
Today's card was a fun, simple one using 2 of the new for August stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my layered stencil card.
  • I placed the Bauhaus Poster stencil on an angle over a piece of white cardstock and inked one side with some Ripe Persimmon  Distress Oxide ink and the other side with some Picked Raspberry DOX ink.
  • I wanted to add more interest to the background, so I left that stencil in place and put the Bauhaus Circle Mask right over the top.  I inked over the orange with some Carved Pumpkin and the pink side with some Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink.
  • I place my stenciled card front into my Misti to stamp the image which I clear heat embossed to help it show up better against the busy background.
  • I set that aside and die cut the sentiment 5 times with some black cardstock and glued them together, creating a stacked sentiment.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then some pink and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I glued the sentiment into the top corner to finish off my card.

Here are the stencils I used:

The Coming of Spring

Welcome
Today's card features a new for April stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Square to Circle stencil onto a piece of white cardstock, then inked it up with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed the stencil, wiped it clean and then placed it back onto the cardstock, shifting it down and inked with some Picked Raspberry DOX ink.
  • I placed the stenciled panel into my Misti and stamped the large circle into the left hand corner with some Picked Raspberry DOX ink.  I added the Grid stamp inside of the circle with the same colour.
  • I stamped the flowers inside the circle, then stamped the sentiment into the top corner.
  • I glued the finished card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then used some foam tape to add it over a white card base.

Dancing in the Rain

Welcome.
Got a fun filled card for you today featuring the new for June stencil called What a Splash from
A Colorful Life Designs.
I paired it up with a previous release called to Ink Blot create this fun card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the What a Splash stencil over that.  I inked it up with some Salty Ocean and a hint of Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed the stencil and replaced it with the Ink Blot stencil and inked that up with some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.  Those colours worked so well together.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen to help add more of the look of rain falling.
  • When it was dry, I placed it into my Misti and stamped the silhouette and sentiment.
  • I glued the finished panel onto a piece of blue cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • Lastly, I added 3 black gems around the sentiment.

So Awesome

Welcome
Today's card features a very unique, cool stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Floor Perspective.
So many possibilities with this one.
I kept my card super simple in a monochromatic look.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and positioned the Floor Perspective stencil along the middle of my panel.  I inked it up with some Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil off and repositioned it along the first inking, turning it upside down and matching it up.  I inked that with some more Peacock Feathers.
  • Next, I placed the panel into my Misti and stamped the silhouettes near the middle but with their feet touching the floor.
  • I stamped the sentiment just under the images.
  • I glued the finished panel onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto an A2 white card base.

Rocking Out

Welcome
Today, I'm playing with this very fun stencil called Uneven Rotation from A Colorful Life Designs.
When I saw it, I thought of this stamp right away.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I got out my Stencil Mat and laid the Uneven Rotation stencil over a piece of white cardstock.
  • I inked it up with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, I shifted the stencil slightly and inked it up with some Blueprint Sketch DOX ink.  I repeated that step one more time and inked with Shaded Lilac.
  • I placed the panel into my Misti and stamped the silhouette over the stenciled background.  I tried to center it to the circle as best I could.
  • I stamped the sentiment over it near the top in my Misti.
  • To assemble, I glued the finished panel onto a piece of coloured cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
