Cozy Christmas Wishes

 Morning.
Meet today's card.

I pulled out this Stampendous stamp that I have had for years and thought it was time to make a card using it.  Love the sweet, vintage look it has.

I began by masking off my white cardstock using Painter's tape and stamped the image using black Memento ink.  I colored the girls using Copic markers and sponged on some Distress inks around the images.  To add to the postcard feel, I stamped the Penny Black script faintly in the background.  It really helped to add further interest to the overall design.
I splattered with white acrylic paint then added some Wink of Stella to their faces which unfortunately doesn't show up in the photo.
Lastly, I mounted the stamped image onto a piece of maroon paper that I had silver embossed on the edges.

Snowflake Wishes

 Morning.
Meet today's card.
I'm trying to make cards that will easily go through the mail without using extra postage.  This card uses die-cuts and embellishments but is still pretty flat.

I began by using a leftover piece of inked paper.  I had inked up another card and there was ink left on my non-stick craft sheet.  Instead of letting it go to waste, I soaked it up with another piece of cardstock and my background was born.
I used a snowflake die from Simon Says and did an embedded die-cut using it.  That kept my card surface flat yet added visual interest with the snowflake.
I repeat stamped the sentiment from Penny Black giving it a journal feel.
Using a piece of drywall tape, I stenciled using the same Salty Ocean Distress ink then added some Nuvo to add some dew like water drops.  The blue button in the center of the snowflake is flat too but nice and shiny.

Have a great weekend and thanks for coming for a visit.

Christmas Critters

 Morning.
Meet this adorable little pair just sharing some Christmas cheer.
Playing with a new image from the Penny Black set called Snow Much Fun.

I began by stamping the image using my Misti, then coloured it using Copic markers.  I added some Wink of Stella over the fox to give him a shiny coat.  Too bad you can't really see that in the photo.
Next, using a circle die, I partially cut a circle from a piece of cardstock.  I glued that onto my card front and then sponged the bottom area with some Salty Ocean Distress ink to help ground the image.

I positioned my image inside the circle area and stamped again using Memento black ink.  I did that so I could pop-dot the coloured image over the top and didn't have to fussy cut out the holly and berries.

I stamped the sentiment from the PB set called Festive Snippets.
I bordered the edges of my card front with some red polka dot washi tape and pop dot mounted the whole piece over that.

Jingle All The Way

Are you feeling the holiday spirit yet?

Meet today's card.
Just a fun little card that will hopefully brighten someones day.

To create my card, I embossed a piece of heavy white cardstock using an embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  I love the design it created and just a little tip....if you lightly spray you paper with water before embossing, you will get a much crisper impression on your paper.
Next, I printed out the Santa and sprayed with Krylon to seal the ink and avoid bleeding.
(I first bought him when he was offered as a digi.  He is no longer available but you can buy him in a set from MFT.)
Using Copic markers, I coloured him in and glued a cute little sparkle pom-pom to his hat.
I die-cut the sentiment using a die from Stamplorations and also coloured that using Copics giving it an ombre look.
I glued that over my embossed background and pop-dotted Santa on top of the sentiment.

Winter Landscape

It's beginning to look a lot like Winter at my house.

So meet today's card.
A very simple one for Christmas and easy to mail too.

I began by stamping the image from Flonz with black Memento ink.  I watercoloured in the open areas using some Distress inks and let dry.
I wanted to add snow to the trees and did that by using a Versamark pen and embossed it with white powder.  I splattered the open area with white acrylic paint to add to the snowy feel.
To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches.

Peace for the Holidays

Peace.
It's something we all pray for and especially even more now in such turbulent times.

I made another Christmas card as I get ready for the holidays.
This was a fun one using a leftover piece of Yupo paper I inked with Alcohol inks.
I began by die-cutting the little village scene onto black cardstock.  This die is from Your Next Stamp and makes for such sweet scenery cards.
I backed it with the inked piece then stamped my sentiment from PTI onto a stitched die-cut piece and pop dot mounted it over to the side.

Christmas Wishes

 Morning.

Today, I am playing with a new die released for Christmas from Penny Black called

I began by creating the background.  I placed the sentiment from the Festive Snippets set inside my Misti and repeat stamped it down the middle of my cardstock.  This set is so fun and has so many different combinations of holiday greeting.  Using the Misti, makes it very easy to get the exact spacing.  I adjusted my paper a half an inch every time for each stamping.
Next, I die-cut the Berries and Leaves twice with my little Cuttlebug and glued them together for stability.  I inked them up with Distress inks then splattered with some white acrylic paint to give them a snowy feel.  I wanted them to have an enameled look, so I pressed the whole piece onto my Versamark pad and clear embossed it.  I was very happy with the final result.
I pop dotted the piece over the stamped background.

Getting Inky

 Morning.
Meet today's card.  A simple, CAS ready for the holidays.

So for this card, I began by masking the center area of my card using Painter's Tape.  I inked up the Full Bloom stamp from Penny Black using my Memento markers and my Misti.
Using the Misti, it is easy to add layers of colour to your stamped images.
Next, I inked and stamped the cedar using a stamp from The Darkroom Door.  I think it helped to give the card a more Christmasy feel.  Then I sponged the edges using some Peeled Paint Distress ink and removed the masks.
I chose this sentiment from MFT and used black Memento ink to stamp it using my Misti.  I scored along the edges of the masks then added some Nuvo droplets for extra interest and texture.

Let's Party

 Morning.
Just a fun card today using a cute digi from Bugaboo.

I printed out the image onto heavy weight cardstock, then sprayed it with Krylon sealer.  I like to do this so that when I colour the image, it won't blur and stays nice and crisp.
Using my Copic markers, I coloured in the image then fussy cut it out.
I masked my card front, sponged Salty Ocean Distress inks along the bottom and after removing the mask, I scored a line using my ScorBug to define the line.
I added my image using pop dots and stamped the Happy Birthday.

CAS Watercolour- Thoughts of You

Welcome.  It's time for another card for the
CAS Watercolour Challenge.

http://caswatercolour.blogspot.ca/

I began by placing my PB Trumpet Song stamp inside my Misti, coloured with markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I like to start with the lightest colours first and add the darker ones as I repeat that process.  It gives such a wonderful watercolour effect.

I did some watercolouring on the background with Salty Ocean Distress inks then inked up my Script stamp from Penny Black with the same ink, stamped off, then onto my paper.  By stamping off, the script is more faint and adds interest and depth to the background.

To finish my card off, I stamped the sentiment from the Special Thoughts set with black Memento ink.

Special Occasion

 Morning.

I can't believe we are half way through November already and it's time for another card for
The Flower Challenge.
This month our challenge is called
 A Special Occasion.

http://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.ca/
A few of my friends will be having milestone birthdays this year, so I thought this would make a great card for a special occasion.

I began by making my background piece using the Shaving Cream Stenciling Technique.
After that was dry, I placed the piece inside my MISTI, inked up the wildflower stamps from Tim Holtz with Memento black ink and stamped over the bkg.
I stamped the sentiment from Rubbernecker using the same technique.
To add further interest, I inked up the Script stamp from Penny Black with grey Memento ink and stamped it over the background.

Christmas Tag Event

Today, I have the pleasure of being a part of Loll Thompson's

So far, the tags have just been amazing and so wonderfully done.
The challenge is to make a Mixed Media tag; any size or style.

http://www.stampingwithloll.com/

For my tag, I began with a piece of paper I made using the
Shaving Cream Stenciling Technique.
I cut out my tag using a tag die from MFT, then cut a circle from the center using dies from Spellbinder as a place to add my snowflake as a focal point.
The 'be jolly' is from Stamplorations.

I hope you get a chance to check out all the inspiration and make some tags to have on hand for the holidays.

Snowy Wishes

Hello!

Today, I am playing with a new background stamp I got from Hero Arts and I wanted to create a fun, wintery looking card using it for the holidays.
I began by placing the stamp in my Misti, inked it with Versamark ink, stamped onto my heavy weight cardstock then added white embossing powder and heat set.
Using some Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint Distress inks, I watercolored in the background.
I wanted to add further interest to the stamped image so I used my Penny Black Script stamp, inked it in some Peeled Paint and stamped over the snowflake background.
To add even more of a snowy effect, I edged my card with Versamark and white heat embossed the edges and splattered white acrylic paint too.
I stamped the sentiment from MFT and cut the panel for the front.
The finishing touch was to die-cut a snowflake from SSS, add the green gems and back it all with green sparkle paper.

Winter Greetings

 Morning.

Today, I am playing with a new stamp from Penny Black called Tranquil. Very simple stamping using my MISTI, some markers and a Mini Mister.
I placed my stamp inside my Misti, coloured the image with Memento markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I repeated that process adding darker shades of color until I was happy with it.
I sponged on some Salty Ocean Distress ink over the background then splattered some acrylic white paint over the top.  It looks like stars instead of snowflakes.
I die cut an oval and used it to frame my image.
I stamped the sentiment from the Brush Pines set and done.
Feeling happy to have another holiday card finished.

Light the Way

Hello.

I am still on a mission to get as many cards made for the holidays as possible.
This is a super simple one that could easily be reproduced using a MISTI.

First I had to figure out where the center of my card was and using my Misti, stamped the center star.
Then I knew where to place my other two stars on either side of the top one.
I scored 2 borders using my ScorBug then pop dotted my piece between those scored lines.

Shaving Cream Stenciling

Cheers!
Hope you are having a great weekend.

Today, I am playing with shaving cream.  Not the gel but the foam kind...the cheapest kind you can find.  A bit messy but so, so fun.  I love playing with new techniques and if you have more re-inker then I do, you are all ready to go and can achieve amazing results.

I love the way the colors blend in the background so here is the link if you want to try it out.

I used a stencil from Simon Says, shaving cream and some Distress re-inkers.
I stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday using my Misti and splattered on some white acrylic paint to add to the snowflake theme.  Added the black gems to pull it all together.

'Tis the Season

 Morning.

Well we are enjoying unseasonable warm temperatures here and I am busy making snowy cards.
So meet today's card.  Another one done for the holidays.

I began by placing my evergreen stamp by Magenta into my Misti, coloured with markers, sprayed with water and stamped.  I wanted to add a snowy feel to my card so leaving the stamp inside my Misti, I took a Versamark pen and coloured on just portions of the tree branches and heat embossed with white.
I love the effect it achieved.
I watercolored the background using Distress inks then white embossed the edges of my card as well.
The sentiment from PTI was stamped with black Memento ink and clear heat embossed to make it pop.
I splattered on some white acrylic paint over the whole piece as the finishing touch.

Pretty Poinsettias

 Morning.
It's a new month and time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge.

http://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/11/the-flower-challenge-2-theme-occasion.html
So I decided to make my occasion Christmas and used this pretty poinsettia stamp to make another card for the holidays.

I began by placing the Christmas Pride flower from Penny Black into my Misti, inked it with Versamark and stamped.  I then embossed with white embossing powder and a heat tool.  I used some Spun Sugar and Festive Berries Distress ink on my acrylic block, water and a paintbrush to paint in the flower.  I love this flower as it is so easy to watercolor and add shading.
I stamped the sentiment from the Festive Cheer PB set in the bottom corner with black Memento ink.
I sponged more Spun Sugar over the whole card front then white embossed the edges.
It needed some more interest, so using the Script stamp, I randomly stamped with Versamark ink and embossed in white.  Much better.  The finishing touch was to add some black gems to the flower center.

Please come and play along with this fun challenge.

 What an exciting day!

I think we all love the look of watercolouring which is so easy with the help of all the wonderful stamps we have in our collections.

This month the theme at the CAS Watercolour Blog is:

So onto my card.
I began by getting out my MISTI and placing my PB flower stamp into it.  I simply coloured with Memento markers, sprayed with water and pressed onto my heavy weight cardstock.
I sponged Salty Ocean Distress inks around my image, then using a PB script stamp, I randomly stamped with Versamark ink and white heat embossed.
To add just a bit of extra interest, I stenciled randomly using a piece of drywall tape with more of the ink.
I stamped the sentiment from Rubbernecker with black Memento ink.
