Sunny Flowers

Welcome
I had fun playing with an older released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
I decided to make a modified mini-slimline card so here are the measurements I used:
Base:  cut @7" x 6 1/4"
Score @ 3 1/2"
  • I placed the Sunny Flowers stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink into the flower centers and then I added some Picked Raspberry to the rest of the flower.
  • Next, I used an eraser on the end of a pencil to add some dots using the same colour of inks just to fill in some of the open areas.
  • To brighten up the whole design, I used my white Posca pen and added dots to the eraser circles and to the flowers.
  • While that dried, I die cut the sentiment from a scrap piece of embossed white cardstock and rubbed over it with my Picked Raspberry DOX ink pad.
  • I die cut the sentiment 4 more times with white cardstock and glued them all together to create a stacked sentiment.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of white, then pink cardstock and then onto the white card base.
  • I glued the sentiment into the corner to finish my card off.

Here is the stencil I used;

Holiday Time

Hello
I hope your holiday planning is going well, it's such a busy time of year.
Today, I am revisiting this wonderful stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create this simple card.
  • I placed the Triangle Fade stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Salty Ocean and some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink.
  • I used the design of the pattern and cut along the edges to give the zig zag edges.
  • I took the stenciled panel and placed it into my Misti to stamp the trees over the background and then splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • Next I took another piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment along the bottom edge.
  • I added some foam tape to the stenciled and stamped trees piece and added it along the middle section of my card front over the sentiment.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of blue cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • To finish my card off, I added 2 black gems beside the sentiment.

Snowflake Net

Welcome
This month we are revisiting some of our favourite stencils at A Colorful Life Designs.
Here is one of my favs called:

So here's what I did to create my card.
I decided to make a Side Fold card using the stencil so I began by prepping my card base.  Here is how I did that:
- Base: cut a piece of cardstock 9 3/4" x 4 1/4"
- Score the base at 4 1/4"

- Stamped Panel Front measures 3 3/4"
- Side Panel measures 1 1/2" x 3 3/4"
** MY STENCILED PANELS ARE A BIT SMALLER AS I ADDED A BORDER AROUND**

  • I placed the Snowflake Net stencil down onto my non-stick mat and rubbed over it with some Blueprint Sketch and some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink being sure to cover the stencil well with ink.
  • I sprayed it with water then pressed it onto a piece of white cardstock.
  • When the print was dry, I stamped over it with a grid and some more script using more of the Blueprint Sketch DOX ink.
  • I splattered the whole panel with my Posca pen and let dry again.
  • Next, I cut my panel as mentioned above and glued them onto my card base.
  • I stamped and die cut the sentiment and glued that onto a blue and white circle die cut.
  • I glued the sentiment onto my card front being sure to add the glue only to one side so the card could still open.

Here is the stencil I used:

Feel Better Soon

Good Morning
Tis the season where it seems that everyone is getting sick so I wanted to add a few cards to my Get Well stash.
I had fun playing with some older released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Cracked stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Triangle Fade stencil right over the top and inked again with some Salty Ocean DOX ink.  It made such a pretty designs.
  • While that dried, I took some white cardstock and cut the sentiment 4 times.  I glued those together to create my 'stacked' sentiment.
  • I glued the stenciled card front onto a piece of pale blue cardstock, then navy and then onto a white A2 sized card base.  I glued the sentiment over the middle and finished my card off by adding some blue gems around the sentiment.

Here are the stencils I used:

Here's what I did to create my card.

  • I removed the stencils and then using my white Posca pen, I splattered and dotted the snowflakes to give them more interest.
  • I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of purple cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I found this pre-printed sentiment, so I added it with some foam tape along the card front.

Little Snowfall

Welcome
Todays card is a fun one and features the new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Little Snowfall stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.
  • I cleaned the stencil off and shifted it up and to the side of the first print and then inked again with some Salty Ocean DOX ink.
  • I removed the stencil and added white dots to all the snowflake centers with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • Next, I inked another piece of white cardstock with a stencil called Dotted Lines with more of the Tumbled Glass DOX ink, turned the stencil around and inked again with more of the Salty Ocean ink.  I used that to die cut the sentiment.
  • I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of pale blue cardstock, then onto a white A2 sized card base.

Love, Joy, Peace

Welcome
Today I'm showing you a wonderful new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called;

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Snowflake Deer stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked with some Wild Honey and some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink just around the deer.  I added some Tumbled Glass DOX around the outside edges.
  • I removed the stencil, splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • Next, I die cut the trees with some white cardstock and looked through my foiled sentiments to find one that worked.
  • I glued the tree die cut over the deer, centering them into the open area.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of pale blue cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • Lastly, I glued the pre-printed sentiment over the deer to finish off my card.
