Starry Nights

Good Morning
Today's simple card features a new released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I got out an older released stencil called Marvelous Masks Arch and placed one of those stencils onto a piece of white cardstock. I inked that up with some Shaded Lilac, Broken China and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Diagonal Stars stencil right over it and inked with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • I moved the stencil around and inked again to fill in some of the open areas.
  • Using my white Posca pen, I added some dots to the stars and splatters to the whole card front to look like snow.
  • When it was all dry, I glued my card front panel onto a piece of dark navy cardstock, then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the foiled sentiment over the panel and finally, added some silver gems that matched the silver sentiment.

Here are the stencils I used:

Merry Little Christmas

Welcome
Introducing another wonderful new for November stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
This stencil has 2 parts which you can use together or separately to create different looks.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed both pieces of the Split Snowflakes stencil over my paper.
  • I inked with some Blueprint Sketch Distress and some Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed the right side of the 2-part stencil and then inked again with some Broken China DOX ink.
  • I removed the stencils and splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • When the panel was dry, I glued it onto a piece of white cardstock, then navy and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I found this silver pre-printed sentiment and added it with some foam tape over to the side.
  • To finish off my card, I added some silver gems to match the sentiment.

Oh Christmas Tree

Good Morning
Welcome to November and the wonderful new releases at A Colorful Life Designs.
Meet the newly released

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by die cutting 2 pieces of white cardstock using the Postage Collage die and set one aside.
  • I masked around the edges of the sections of one of the die cut panels, then placed the Close Up Branches stencil over the die cut and inked with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the stencil slightly and inked again over the whole stencil with some Rustic Wilderness DOX ink giving the branches a shadow effect.
  • Next, I removed the stencil and lightly inked over it with some more of the Cracked Pistachio DOX ink.
  • I used the eraser on the end of a pencil to add the red dots as berries and then splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • I took the die cut I had set aside and cut one of the sections and stamped the tree onto that.
  • I used some red cardstock to die cut the sentiment, spattered with my Posca pen, then glued that onto the white word shadow.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of red cardstock and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I glued the single tree stamp to one side and used some foam tape to pop the sentiment into the corner.

Here is the stencil I used:

Baroque Swirl Snowflake

Good Morning
I love trying to combine stencil designs to create new looks
Today's card uses 2 new stencil designs from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock and placed one of the Marvelous Mask Arches stencil over the middle of the bottom edge of my cardstock and inked with some Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink.
  • I flipped the stencil over and inked along the top, right above the bottom arch.
  • I cleaned the stencil off, repositioned it over to one side along the bottom and inked with some Broken China DOX ink.  I repeated that process on the other side and then along the top edge, filling in the background.
  • Next, I placed the Baroque Swirl Snowflake stencil over the background and inked with some Prize Ribbon DOX ink.
  • I splattered the whole panel with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry while I die cut the sentiment with some navy cardstock.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then purple and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the bottom edge of my card front.

Here are the stencils I used:

Celebrating the Holidays

Welcome
I do enjoy creating with snowflakes although I have to say, winter is not my favourite time of the year.
Meet the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

Here are the details.
  • I placed the Baroque Swirl Snowflake onto a piece of white cardstock and then inked it up with some Distress Oxide inks in these colours: Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers.
  • I cleaned the stencil off and inked it up onto another piece of white cardstock using some Villainous Potion and some Wilted Violet DOX ink.
  • Next, I took the stenciled pieces and cut them down into strips.
  • I took another piece of white cardstock and using some foam tape, I popped the panels over it to create my card front.  I matched the pattern as I added them.
  • I spattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I stamped the sentiment with more of the Blueprint Sketch DOX ink and die cut it out.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of navy cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used more foam tape to pop the sentiment over the background and then added 3 navy gems around it to finish off my card.

Decking the Halls

Good Morning
I have to say that I love working on Christmas cards in preparation for the holiday season.
For today's card, I used 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, one is new and the other one is older.
By combining them together, I was able to create this fun, simple looking card.
So meet the newly released

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed an older released stencil called Ball Jumble onto a piece of white cardstock and inked with some Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink. It reminded me of pieces of holly.
  • I lifted the stencil off and placed the newly released Christmas Greenery stencil over the panel and inked it up with some Rustic Wilderness DOX ink.  I also added some Salty Ocean DOX ink for some shading.
  • Next, using the eraser end of a pencil, I stamped in the red dots with some Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink.  I added the white detail to the dots with my Posca pen.
  • While that dried, I die cut the sentiment from a piece of red cardstock and then cut the word shadow right from the center of the stenciled panel and glued those together.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of red and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I added 2 red gems beside the sentiment to finish my card off.

Here are the stencils I used:

Layered Snowflake

Good Morning
Today's card is featuring 2 of the new stencil for October from A Colorful Life Designs.
Meet the new

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed one of the Marvelous Masks Rectangles stencil onto a piece of white cardstock and then placed the Christmas Montage over that.  I inked it up with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencils off and placed one of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Duos stencil over the stenciled background and inked that up with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • I lifted that stencil off and placed the panel into my Misti.
  • I looked through my snowflake stamps and found this large one from Visible Image. I stamped it right over the stenciled snowflake as they seemed to work well together.
  • Next, I stamped the sentiment with some Versamark ink and white heat embossed it on a piece of pale blue cardstock
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of pale blue and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the snowflake to finish my card off.
