Love Flower

Welcome
Meet one of the newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called

This is what I did to create my card.
  • I decided to get out my Gel Plate for this one, so I rubbed my Wilted Violet and my Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink pads directly onto my Gel Plate and blended the colours together smooth using a brayer.
  • Next, I placed the Love Flower stencil over my plate and then took a piece of white cardstock and rubbed that over my plate to create the print.
  • I placed the print into my Misti to stamp the sentiment over the middle and I rubbed some more of the Wilted Violet DOX ink along the edges to add more depth and interest.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then navy and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • To finish my card off, I added 3 black gems around the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:

Patchworks

Hello
Today's card reminded me of a cozy patchwork quilt, so good for this cold winter we are having.

I had a bunch of pieces left over from doing the Bargello technique a few weeks ago, so I decided to use them and make another card.

So, here's what I did.
  • I began by looking through my scrap papers that I never use and found 4 that I thought would work together.
  • I cut them into 3/4" strips and glued the strips onto a piece of white cardstock side by side of each other being sure they were all touching.
  • I let the piece dry, then cut the strips in the opposite direction, again 3/4" wide so each strip had the patterns on them. (hope that makes sense)
  • I glued them, one at a time onto another piece of white cardstock, offsetting the pieces like putting together a quilt pattern. There are many different ways you can create a pattern by just moving the strips into different positions.
  • While the glue dried, I die cut the black frame and then glued that over the patchwork.
  • I glued the finished card front onto a piece of patterned paper and then onto a 4 1/4" white square card base.
  • I die cut the sentiment with some black and added it over the middle to finish my card off.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Gentle Snowfall

Welcome
Today's card combines 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.
One is new and is called:

The older one is called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Split Snowflakes stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink just along the top edge.
  • I removed that stencil and placed the Dotted Trellis stencil over the panel and inked it up with some more of the Peacock Feathers DOX ink just along the bottom edge being sure not to ink over the snowflakes.
  • I took the Dotted Trellis stencil and shifted it over the first inking then added some Salty Ocean DOX ink to give the panel more of a colour variation.
  • Using the end of a pencil eraser, I added the dots with more of the Peacock Feathers ink.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a pale blue then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I stamped and die cut the sentiment with some more Peacock Feathers then used some foam tape to pop it into the bottom corner of my card front.

Here are the stencils I used:

Time to Celebrate

Good Morning

This month is just flying by and A Colorful Life Designs has a mid-month release of a new stencil called:

I decided to do a torn paper technique using the stencil.
So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I secured my Chaos Squares stencil in place with some tape over a piece of white cardstock as I wanted to be able to lift it up and down like a hinge when inking the pattern.
  • I took a piece of scrap paper and tore it into strips and placed one of the strips near the top edge and inked it with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil up, removed the torn paper and placed another piece along the next section and inked again this time using some Abandoned Coral and Fossilized Amber DOX.
  • I repeated that process working my way down my card front until my white cardstock was all inked up.
  • I die cut a circle right from my card front and then glued it onto a larger black circle. I die cut the dandelion twice and glued that over the circle.
  • I stamped the sentiment into the corner of my card front in my Misti.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then orange and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the die cut circle back into place matching up the pattern.
  • Finally I added some orange gems to the flower centers to finish my card off.

Here is the stencil I used:
p.s....It's on sale right now!!

So Happy

Welcome
This fun little card was created using the new stencil called:
from A Colorful Life Designs.

Lots of possibilities with this one, but I decided to keep it really simple.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Circles Galore stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink.  I was left with a fun panel of dotted circles.
  • To add more interest, I took the eraser on the end of a pencil and added the dots in these Distress Oxide colours; Ripe Persimmon, Abandoned Coral and some Peacock Feathers.
  • I glued my square stenciled panel onto a piece of blue cardstock and then onto a white 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and die cut it out.  I die cut a blue circle slightly larger and glued them together before adding them to the middle of my card with some foam tape to pop it up.

Here is the stencil I used:

A Little Winter Blessing

Hello and Welcome
I must admit, winter is not my favourite time of year but I love snowflake themed projects, so I decided to embrace that feeling with this card I made using a newly released stencil for January from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a square piece of white cardstock and placed the Falling Dots over my paper then inked it up with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil off, cleaned it and then turned it sideways.  I inked again but this time I used some Salvaged Patina DOX ink to give the background some colour variation.
  • I took the stenciled piece and placed it into my Misti to stamp the large snowflake right over the middle with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and then die cut it out.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then blue and then onto a 4 1/4" square white card base.
  • I popped the sentiment over the snowflake with some foam tape.

Here is the stencil I used:

Friends Close at Heart

Good Morning and Welcome
Today's card features a lovely new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
I did some masking and changed it up a bit to get this bright and happy design. Stencils are so great and versatile for creating your own designs.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by masking around the large coneflower with some low tack tape and then I placed the Coneflower stencil into the bottom corner of my white cardstock and inked it up with some Ripe Persimmon and some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the stencil to the top right hand corner and repeated that process.
  • I cleaned the stencil off and masked around the flowers to add the leaves around the flowers.  I inked that up with some Cracked Pistachio and Rustic Wilderness DOX ink.
  • I placed the stenciled card front into my Misti and stamped the sentiment along the side.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of dark pink and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • To finish my card off, I added 3 black gems just under the sentiment.

Here is the stencil I used:
