Congrats~ Bargello Technique
Welcome
It's my turn to host the TLC Challenge (Technique Lovers) at Splitcoast Stampers.
My challenge is to make a card using the
Everyone has been so busy with their Christmas festivities so I thought this Technique was a very simple, achievable one to try. So many possibilities with it as well and a good chance to use up some of those scrap pieces of designer paper you may have in your stash.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I began by looking through my scrap papers that I never use and found 4 that I thought would work together.
- I cut them into 3/4" strips and glued the strips onto a piece of white cardstock side by side of each other being sure they were all touching.
- I let the piece dry, then cut the strips in the opposite direction, again 3/4" wide so each strip had the patterns on them. (hope that makes sense)
- I glued them, one at a time onto another piece of white cardstock, offsetting the pieces like putting together a quilt pattern. There are many different ways you can create a pattern by just moving the strips into different positions.
- When I was happy with the pattern, I glued the piece onto some white cardstock and then black and then onto an A2 sized card base.
- I die cut the sentiment with some black cardstock 4 times and glued them together, creating a stacked sentiment. I cut the word shadow from a piece of white and glued them together.
- To finish my card off, I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the middle of my card.
Thanks a lot for coming to take a look.

Good Morning
Here is my card for today featuring an older stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
So, here's what I did to create my card.
- I placed the Cracked stencil over a piece of white cardstock. Beginning in the center of the stencil, I inked it up with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
- Next, moving away from the center of the stencil, I inked with some Picked Raspberry DOX and then some Lumberjack Plaid around the outside edges.
- I used my white Posca pen to add lots of white splatters to the stenciled background and set aside to dry.
- I die cut the sentiment with some white cardstock and cut the word shadow from the stenciled panel and glued them together.
- I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto some red and then onto a 4 14" square card base.
- I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment into place.

Merry and Happy Holidays
Welcome
Today's card combines 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called
So here's what I did to create this unique pattern in some traditional Christmas colours.
- I placed Tribal Fabric stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Rustic Wilderness.
- I lifted that stencil off and placed the Stitched Harlequin stencil over the first stencil pattern and then inked again with some Lumberjack Plaid.
- Next, I rubbed my Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink pad onto a piece of white cardstock, splattered with my white Posca pen and then used that to die cut the sentiment. I cut the sentiment 4 more times with some white and then glued them all together, offsetting them a bit to add a highlight around the sentiment.
- I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white, then red cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base.
- I die cut a small frame with more white cardstock and glued that over the front before gluing the sentiment in place.
Here are the stencils I used:

Welcome
Today's card was a fun one I made using this stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
So, here's what I did to create my card.
- I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Cracked Stencil over my paper and inked with some Cracked Pistachio and some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink.
- I cleaned the stencil off, then repositioned it and inked again with some Black Soot DOX ink. The black really seemed to punch up the whole design.
- Next, I splattered the whole panel using my white Posca pen.
- I die cut the sentiment with some white cardstock and then I cut the word shadow right from the middle of the stenciled panel and glued them together.
- I added my card front to a piece of white cardstock, then purple and then glued them onto a white A2 sized card base.
- I used some foam tape to added the sentiment back into place, matching up the pattern.

Here's what I did to create my simple CAS card.
- I placed the Cozy Knit stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Broken China Distress Oxide ink.
- I removed the stencil and placed the piece into my Misti to stamp the Christmas Words stamp using some black Versafine Clair ink.
- I die cut the sentiment with some blue and glued that onto the white word shadows.
- I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of blue and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
- I used some foam tape to add the sentiment over the background.
