Monochromatic Butterfly

I am back today playing along in a monochromatic challenge at Splitcoast.  This year we have seen a huge number of butterflies here in Southern Ontario, Canada which is early for us.  The reports say that because of our unseasonably warm weather, the butterflies have migrated north early.  Then it snowed this week...sure hope it hasn't devasted the butterfly population.  Time will tell.
Anyways, the butterfly on my card is the new Soft Wings from Penny Black.  I stamped it, coloured it with Copics then added Glossy Accents to highlight some of the areas.  I added the score line and the sentiment from Technique Tuesday.
I really appreciate you popping in to take a look today.  The weekend is almost here.

Geek is Chic

So here you go....this is the card I made for two challenges.  The first one can be seen here at CAS-ual Fridays....it is a sketch.  I am also playing along with the challenge at Moxie Fab....to create a card incorporating spectacles or eyeglasses.  I stamped the cute images from  Imaginisce onto circles and mounted as the sketch shows.  After I was all done, I noticed that I had flipped the elements in the sketch...oops, but went with it anyways.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Monkey Hooray!

I just feel like I have lost my 'mojo' these days but I wanted to play along with the challenge at Splitcoast which was to create a card using 'At the Zoo' as the theme.  Here is what I came up with.  The monkey is a digi image from Melonhedz.  I coloured him with Copics and cut him out.  Mounted him onto the stripes with a piece of twine behind as the vine.  The leaves are from Daisy Bucket and the sentiment is from Penny Black.
Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

I wanted to play along with the FS challenge today at Splitcoast.  Here is what I came up with.  The bkg. is repeat stamping from the set called Sweet Wishes and the cat (isn't he so cute!) is called Forever Smile.  The die cut he is pop dotted onto is from Spellbinders.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  Sure hope you have a great week.

Congratulations

Here is a card I made using stamps from Penny Black.  I used the Wishes set to stamp the bkg. first then again in the blue then I punched one out and pop dotted it.  I was pleased with the effect.  I added the sentiment from the Gratitude sentiment set and the half pearls.
Thanks so much for popping in and taking a look.

Spring Fling

Today, I am showing some of the stamps from Penny Black that I used to create this Spring Fling card.  You can also see my card HERE.  I masked the bottom portion and stamped the flower from Flowers Sweet then coloured using Copics.  I removed the mask and scored the top part of my card for interest.  I stamped the flower an extra time so I could cut one out and pop dot the center and add it to the front sentiment panel.  The sentiment is from the very fun set called Sweet Wishes.  The flourish is cut from a Sizzix die.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Thoughts of You

Happy Monday...I am playing along with two challenges today at SCS.  One is to 'faux dry emboss' which are the circles I added to the bkg.  The other challenge is to use a scallop and since I don't use my punches nearly enough, I got one out to use.  The flower image is coloured with Memento markers and sprayed with water before stamping.
Hope you have a good week.  Thanks for coming by to take a look.

Easter Blooms

Just finishing a last Easter card for a very special friend.  I also wanted to play along with the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays: to created a card showing something you would find in an Easter basket.  When I was little, it was tradition to get some new socks or a new Easter bonnet but as an adult, my mom would give me some kind of a flower in an Easter basket.
Once again, I printed off the free digi from Melonheadz, coloured it with Copics and cut it out...pop dotted the flower then the flower head again for interest.  I hope she likes this bright and sunny card.

Easter Lilies

Hello and welcome to Monday.  The weekend just goes by way too fast and I need to get cracking at making a few Easter cards.  Today I am playing along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast which is to make a card featuring the Spotlighting technique.  Here's what I did:
I stamped the lilies in black twice then punched the circles out and coloured them using Copics.  I added the black borders and pop dotted them on top of the first stamped panel....voila....Spotlighted.  The sentiment is an older stamp from Penny Black and the flowers are from Northwoods.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
